This was our first visit to Maxime's and we were not certain what to expect. Once you walk in you sense the old world feel that takes you away from the fast food world. We were glad that the menu featured both Gluten free and vegetarian options, though these are not their specialty. Our favourite item was actually an appetizer, the Goat Cheese and sun-dried Tomato spinach dip and warm pitas. Everything about it was spot on. The pita's were warm and soft and almost glistened but they were not oily. The dip was rich but not so rich you could only eat a few bites. Next time I would order it as my only item!My daughter ordered the gluten free spaghetti, but she ordered it baked and found it too dry, with too little sauce and too dry noodles. Next time we would not order it baked. The gluten free spaghetti is perhaps too thin to bake well.I ordered the Mediterranean Vegetable wrap, once I removed the cucumbers (which did not seem to fit in well) the wrap was great. It was stuffed with the right amount of warm feta, the vegetables well cooked, warm and crisp enough but not soggy. It all held up very well as it was being eaten. I could not finish it all and took it home and the next day it was still tightly wrapped and good tasting. If you are looking for a restaurant that feels classic and serves good food you should try Maxime's.
