Maximillian’s has been a long-time favourite in the Adelaide Hills. I had been many years previous and was excited to be going back. Definitely did not disappoint – we were there on a Wednesday, it was a bit quierter than normal but excellent way to enjoy the degustation menu washed down with Sidewood sparkling. so disappointed that after booking weeks before us, a table with a view of the unused kamin was offered completely with müll next to it. do not eat fine when paper is on the top of the table. there was another table in the restaurant. freeze. air cone. waiter rushed and distracted. after 20 min someone took our order. the wine order lasted 3 pieces to be served properly. we chose the selection of the chef. steak with so much gristle could not eat it. salat drowned in bad olive oil. If you love long lunches with close friends/family, then look no further. With the backing of it 's wonderful reputation and our multiple previous great experiences, we were again delighted by the superb service, incredible food and wonderful atmosphere. We usually choose the 'let us feed...you ' option, and the staff are only too happy and able to make minor variations to accomodate anyone in our group who might have a specific issue like a nut allergy, or certain dislikes. my partner and I have thrown off the lunch with a glass of champagne, which was like fine distilled green apple skins in a galaxie finer blase and which has set the ton for the day! a fine, common entry of delicious pate...with pickled sour cherries and nuts followed by second deer (yes, we are greedy) of cheese the main building was crowned by the perfect chateaubriand for two. If you can eat so well, you can't skip a whisper! there was an oh so not sweet and charmingly playful dark chocolate mille feuille with hazelnut dacquoise, and the other desert was a delightful presentation of baked passion fruit tea, lemon meringue and vanilla bean ice cream with lemon curd. great day had of all!

Came here as a group to the bar paying an admission of $5 each. Was expecting to order from the bar menu only to be told on arrival there was a winter red festival going on and the only food available was fries or hot...dogs. I was really looking forward to having booked lunch here but at 2.00pm, but our table was in a dark corner, we struggled to read the menu. My family enjoyed the chicken dish and the pork dish but the steak dish I had medium rare...was tuff and I couldn't eat it. The ambience was noisy everyone seemed to shout.

What a beautiful place for lunch, the food was excellent, service was excellent and Andrew such a lovely guy! Such an enjoyable experience, and the boys loved the golf range. Can 't believe we have never been there before, but certainly will again in the future....Excellent!!!!
