Our server was friendly, but unfortunately quite slow. To our surprise, she informed us that five of the main entrees on the menu were unavailable. I couldn't believe it—it left us with very few options. After she took our order, she returned to ask if we were planning to order anything warm soon. It was clear that the chef wanted to wrap things up for the night, which made for an awkward atmosphere.
The crab cakes, while flavorful, were served cold in the center, and the fried green tomatoes were so hard they were nearly inedible. To make matters worse, they paired both appetizers with strawberry preserves instead of a remoulade sauce, which was a poor choice.

I chose the magical dining experience to try a variety of dishes. The coconut shrimp were delicious, but my steak fell short of expectations. While the mixed vegetables and steak were flavorful, the mashed potatoes were unusual. The gravy had a surprising hint of cinnamon, which felt off and lessened my appetite. What a lovely spot! Food was 5/5! Crab cake Benedict was perfect/ the crab cake was so fresh tasting, the sauce was delicious and the potatoes that came with the meal were great. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and said the sauce on that was really really tasty ! The staff is 5/5 as well! It 's only street parking so as I was trying to park my big ol ' mom vehicle the owner saw me struggling and helped me out! He also personally went to most tables as they were ending the meal tk thank people for visiting and tell us more about the place and future plans. Amazing little spot in a great location with loads of character. The food was so delicious that we can’t wait to return and try more. Choosing what to order was tough because everything looked incredible, and the specials were even more tempting. You know the food is exceptional when the side of veggies was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Within minutes, we met both owners who offered personal recommendations and off-menu wine specials. We polished off our plates and couldn’t resist dessert. They even surprised us with complimentary glasses of champagne for my wife’s birthday and a personal toast from the owner. Came here on 5/13/23 for Mother's day/ Grandmother's 86th birthday with my parents and fiance. My grandmother had a blast and martinis! Maxine came by to every table and was awesome!! Food was awesome!! Service excellent!! I had the lobster ravioli (with benadryl as I have a dairy allergy) it was godly. My grandma had the ravioli too and enjoyed it!! My dad had cioppino and enjoyed it. My mom had trout. My fiance had filet mignon with peppercorn sauce and couscous. We had key lime for dessert ? and they gave us flutes of champagne and a spritz with it. All in all very delicious and delightful will be back and want to try brunch!
I had the Chicken Biscuit Bowl, and it was truly delightful! The biscuits were among the best I've ever had, so hearty that they reminded me of pancake filling. The chicken was roasted to perfection, and I topped it off with cheese and thick-cut bacon, which is an absolute must! My husband chose the burger, and it was cooked perfectly to medium rare. The bun had a lovely hint of garlic salt that was simply divine. Be sure to add bacon to your burger as well! I can't wait to bring my friends back to this hidden gem!

Maxine's On Shine is a charming hidden gem nestled in the neighborhood. The menu offers exquisite dishes, the atmosphere boasts a unique flair, and the drinks are outstanding. I especially loved the short rib brunch, which was absolutely delightful.
