Incredible gem in the heart of Bedstuy. I had heard of this congee spot and as a congee lover I had to check it out. Upon walking in there are popular Asian grocery items available on the shelves, including noodles, spices and snacks. I went with the classic Chicken congee and also a green milk tea boba as they ran out of taro. Normally I would mark down for not having an item available but the Chicken congee smacked so much it felt wrong to give this spot less than 5 stars. Not the best Vietnamese coffee but it is tasty (who doesn 't love condensed milk). It 's more sweet than that well balanced strong flavored concoction I 'm used to. The coffee is kept hot so fyi when getting iced coffee to shake well so the ice doesn 't water it down.Got a whitefish banh mi for take out. Once I finally made it home exhausted from my walk I ravenously ate one half of the decent sized sammie. But all the while I was thinking, this is a delicious smoked fish but I do wish it had something. Hmm was there supposed to be heat in this sando? I don't usually write reviews, but I've noticed that the food quality at the Gates Ave location has been highly inconsistent over the past few months. There are days when the congee is cooked perfectly, with just the right flavor and texture, but more often than not, it's watery and bland (I even took a COVID test to make sure!). Ordering from here feels like a gamble—sometimes you get great food, other times you don’t get good service. This place has the potential to be amazing, so I really hope things improve soon.
I will always remember that breakfast sandwich with pork and avocado—it’s so delicious that I have to get it again. The congee is also fantastic and very satisfying. I think it’s perfect for when I’m feeling under the weather or on a cold, rainy day when I just want to snuggle up in a blanket. The matcha lemonade exceeded my expectations; it doesn’t have the overpowering matcha flavor at all. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants!

I believe this is the best DoorDash meal I’ve ever had. The packaging was excellent, the soup was at the perfect temperature, and the sandwich was fantastic too! I had heard great things about the Ginger Chicken Soup, and it definitely lived up to the hype—it has a nice kick and is much more flavorful than I anticipated. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich with avocado and added chicken, and it’s delicious, especially when dipped in the soup broth.
This is a fantastic spot to pick up hot congee and drinks for a picnic in Herbert von King Park. They also offer an excellent variety of cooking supplies, ramen, spices, tea, and Chinese sauces. The boba tea is a definite highlight! You can choose from both hot and cold drinks, as well as rice bowls, including breakfast options. They have choices for vegans, vegetarians, and meat lovers alike.
Fantastic congee and banh mi, along with an excellent selection of quality Australian chai! They also kindly stored my water bottle for two weeks after I accidentally left it there, and I was so pleased to find it when I returned yesterday. What a thoughtful gesture!

Porkduckin Congee is a must have! Super healthy and filling. Definitely recommend with the Soup Ginger Chicken if you have a cold
