Mayflower Seafood Restaurant

Service was exemplary. It has a cool nautical atmosphere and was clean and COVID safe. So I hate to leave a bad review. But, The catfish was kinda like chewing paper with the breading falling off. The flounder was just okay. Fry?s and hush puppies were soggy.everything was kinda bland. I don?t like spicy food at all so if I say bland it is lol. Salad was excellent. Portions were large. Plenty to bring home to the pups. Very nice place. We think it might be geared toward the senior crowd. With the over 55 specials and closing so early. Unlike other places we?ve been, we?ll probably try it again. Sometimes the time of day or the cook on duty makes a big difference. $34 for our meals plus a $5...

Actually the service was not that good there were 3 different sets of people that came in in 10-15 minute intervals after we did they got there food before we did,started to walk out ,but decided to stay,finally got food grouper was good, potato wasn't hot , oysters were oyster nuggets nothing but burnt flour covering ?? Won't get them again ,tea was a glass of surgar couldn't taste the tea,,,used to come here all the time will have second thoughts now..yes that is what the oyster mcnuggets looked like..

Very good meal! The fried oysters and grouper were great; tasted like they just came off the fisherman 's boat. The scallops...not so much, but they were ok. The service we received was very good, too; our waitress kept the ice tea coming. Note to newbies like me: when they have taken your order and are collecting the menus, when they casually ask if they can start you off with some mozzarella sticks or fried pickles? ...know that those items are not going to be free ;

How do you **** sweet tea? If her tea is made with a powder mixture, I would say that it is contaminated with mausin. If it was actually brewed, then something happened to her tea bags. None of us could manage more than a few swallows, and asked us to bring ice water. My roared shrimps were mostly raw. However, the shell strips were edible. We will not return. What a wonderful discovery! Instead of heading to Raleigh, I was so glad to find a delicious, fresh, PLENTIFUL option here in Clayton. The place was vlean, brightly light, airy and smelled absolutely delicious!I ordered the lunch combo of popcorn shrimp and tilapia with a side of fries, hushpuppies and slaw...all piled high ?. I recommend!

This place is very soothing and pescatarian friendly! The vibe is very relaxing and it serves dishes such as pasta, salads, soup, sandwiches and naturally delicious seafood plates. I've got the puppy plate with shrimp, frits and Hush puppies! Very delicious!

This is AWESOME. It beats the Goldsboro location hands down. Staff, cleanliness and food flavour and proportions), surpass all other seafood places within 50 miles. It's the only place I'm gonna eat seafood in this area... Great job guys.

We ordered the pickup for an office dinner. It was all really good. I have the mussels and scallops with roasted Okra and I loved it, the scallops were really good!

Decent food, service is a little slow as they seem short staffed. Other was always a good meal for fair price.
