The restaurant uses questionable practices at the ordering counter, which I suspect are part of corporate training. My experience began with the "Choose 2" meal, priced at $9.59, which included a half sandwich and a side of soup. The employee asked if I wanted a pickle spear but didn't mention that it would cost an extra $1.50. When I ordered a soda, I wasn't made aware of the two size options, which were either too small or too large. I placed a delivery order using their app, but it didn't go through, even though my card was charged. When I contacted customer service, they informed me that the order had failed and that the transaction wouldn’t be processed. Following their advice, I attempted to place another order while still on the line with them, but once again, the order failed and my card was charged again. I placed an online order and went in to pick it up. The manager and an employee were at the pickup register. After completing their tasks, they both ignored me and went to the back. The employee who was bagging orders had her back to the pickup line. She bagged my order along with two others but failed to acknowledge me and the person behind me. After a while, she suddenly shouted, “Does anyone have a pickup order?” The person behind me stepped around me and received his order first, while I finally got mine after that. I don’t believe this issue was the fault of the staff; they appeared to be understaffed, which reflects poorly on management or ownership rather than on them. On a slow, lazy Sunday afternoon, when there were only about two other customers in the restaurant when we arrived, it took around 45 minutes to receive two meals. When we finally got our food and requested tea refills, they didn’t add ice, leaving us with two lukewarm drinks. To make matters worse, we realized we weren’t given any forks. It would have taken less time to go home and grab our own silverware than to wait in line, so we decided to leave.

The staff at this restaurant appeared to lack effort. It took over 50 minutes for my order to be renewed, even though there were only two tables occupied. I could have gone to the grocery store and cooked my own meal during my late lunch break (it was already 3 PM). It certainly would have been faster.
It's evident that they are short on staff. I've never had my online order ready when I arrived. My main issue is that they seemed so rushed to keep up with orders that my order was put together carelessly, and they definitely skimped on the cheese, only sprinkling it on the top layer.
During the ordering process, there were no clear price displays, so my seemingly simple "Choose 2" meal ended up costing an astonishing $18.58. I won’t be going back to McAlister's Deli—not only because of the steep prices, but also because the food itself was quite mediocre.
The Reuben sandwich was excellent, just like always. The loaded baked potato was delicious, loaded with plenty of bacon and sour cream. I gave the cheese dip a try, but it was more like nacho cheese, which didn’t really suit the potato. I’ll keep that in mind for next time.

My husband really enjoyed the Black Angus Club and the potato salad at this restaurant! My son and I always have a great time with our McAlister clubs too. Thank you!
