First time dining at McEwenâs to celebrate an anniversary. Really enjoyed the setting and decor of the restaurant. There was a huge bar with high top seating and a couple of TVs for a casual environment. Also there were multiple dining rooms for a more formal experience. We started with tomatoes and mozzarella salad, once of several small plate options, that was plenty for the three of us. The dinner menu had a lot of fish, from snapper to catfish, along with several steaks and chicken. Definitely something for everyone. Judging by the empty plates, the food was delicious! The service level was outstanding with just the right amount of check ins during dinner. We wonât wait so long to go...
The food was delicious. Service was good. Ambience was great. I was disappointed because I came for my birthday dinner and was so excited to try the osso bucco and they were out. Incredibly disappointing. Also, they provide menu pricing for their wines and beer, but not for their cocktails, which is a head-scratcher to me. We received our bill and had been charged $16 for a tiny Manhattan. Iâve never had a drink that expensive anywhere. A bit much, in my opinion. Iâve tried numerous nice restaurants in Memphis, and Iâve never paid that much for one cocktail.
Pictured below is the seafood pasta, shrimp grits, filets and tots small plate, purple hull pea hummus the seasonal veggie plate. The hummus needed a little more flavor. The filets and tots was perfection for a small plate absolutely perfect. The seafood pasta was bursting with flavor! The veggie plate was perfect for my friend who is a vegan she loved everything about it. The shrimp and grits were absolutely incredible my favorite for sure. The lemon drop was superb
what a joy for dinner and served! the last time we were out, we had to wait for everything! we were waiting with the best service. (remembering his name) we arrived on time to our reservation of 6:30 and at 6:40 our cocktails and our dinner order had taken. around 7:05 we had our delicious devotees with the time to save before we go to the theater - so we had dessert glad we did! the brownie trifle was delicious. they will not be missed.

OH MY GOSH!! The food here was AMAZING!! The chef made sure to keep my husband safe, he has many allergies, and the flavor was great. This is my first time to Memphis and I wondered if the hype about the food was just that, hype, it was not. The biscuits will melt in your mouth. I didn't get a picture of the Saffron lobster risotto but it was delicious. If you're in Memphis try to get to McEwan's, you will not be disappointed, I wasn't.
Don?t be put off by the upscale renovations; McEwen?s is a perfect spot for a casual, reasonably-priced lunch. Unpretentious and popular with the business crowd, it offers great sandwiches in the $10-15 range with homemade(? breads. Good wine selection and the same high quality service as dinner.
Chefs kiss to the sweet potato crusted catfish! Fantastico. The waiter Parks was so polite and perfect. Also the pics below I can?t remember the last appetizer the fried green tomatoes were so amazing. Check this place out ASAP
Old school classic vibe with excellent food, service and ambiance. Try the sea bass! The extra thick cut is the best version I have ever had.

the service was excellent! very nice, small place. eating was good. the soul was the best!
The meat dishes are very tasty, and the Banana cream pie is delicious.
