I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Melville Deli today. The food was completely off. The bologna sandwich was made with hard white bread and lacked enough meat. The egg sandwich was cold and the bacon tasted as if it had been sitting in oil for a while. The Greek salad had too much dressing, not enough lettuce, and hardly any feta cheese. The stuffed grape leaves were hard and the X Factor hero bread was soggy and inedible. I am unsure of what went wrong, but I definitely overpaid for this order. Went into this deli for the first time today and it definitely won 't be the last. Super friendly staff which to me is just as important as good food. I was met with all smiles as I chatted with Andy and Simon, they were so welcoming! Everyone else actually looked happy to be there which you don 't see often nowadays. Speaking of good food, I got a chicken Dijon hero that was fresh, delicious, and HUGE; I will have to eat the other half for lunch tomorrow. Never leave reviews and this is my first one because I had to!! We stopped by to grab a quick bite before heading back to Maryland and we are coming back just for these subs! The owner helped us choose the X factor and the cab ride and boy were we impressed!! The sauce and everything was amazing. On the way out he also gave us some bagels to take home with us. So sweet!! Can't wait to come back.
I love this place. One of the last remaining “small town feeling” delis in the area. The customer service is great. The food is great. They accommodate anything you’d like. Even with the latest inflation their prices are still the best around. Get any type of chicken cutlet hero and you won’t be dissapointed??

The Melville Deli continues to outshine all other options. It offers the best flavors, generous portions, and always goes out of their way to accommodate. Without a doubt, the best deli on Long Island.

This dish was made perfectly. The hero sandwich was filled with onions, peppers, and scrambled eggs.
