Every week we order carry out meals from this establishment but tonight we decided to book a table for 5 family members to celebrate Fathers Day. The exterior of the restaurant is in need of repair and much paintwork, but the food is normally pretty good. We arrived and were shown to a table but within the space of 30 seconds a fly made an appearance. Thinking this was just a rogue insect, we ordered food and drinks and settled down for an enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, the rogue fly had decided to invite numerous family members to our table and before long we (and a waiter) were swotting them with menus and napkins, and unsuccessfully wafting them away from our food. We have, over the years, eaten in and had takeaways from here many times.Being Vegetarian, we have always gone for side dishes rather than a main . However, since lockdown, we have not been in the area, so as we were passing, I phoned in an oder. It was ready on time and that's about all I can say good about it ! The Onion Bhajis were like a squashed ball of gram flour with a few onions thrown in , very doughy. The Pilau rice was bland , the Naan bread were sweet and again, doughy . The dahl curry had whole cloves of garlic in it and chunks of coriander leaf with stems and again was bland . It was like they could not be bothered to chop things correctly. Have eaten from here a number of times. Sometimes it’s pretty good, sometimes it’s average. Last nights was ok. I had the tandoori mixed grill which wasn’t very tender. It was all mixed together in a bag as opposed to being set out nicely in a box and it didn’t look very appetising. I also ordered fried chickpea rice which was not bad. I also decided to get Takra Dall which was sadly lacking flavour and was a bit mushy. Everyone else at the party seemed to enjoy their dishes so maybe I just ordered the wrong things. I am so terribly disappointed we have been loyal customers to this restaurant since moving to the area. Until now I went in to order and asked which main courses were vegan I was told he was far to busy for that as he was a driver down!! To look at the menu and figure it out myself. There is no vegan menu and no dishes are marked as vegan on the menu hence going in rather than ordering online. I had quite a big order and made the decision to go elsewhere. However it was incredibly rude and really quite embarrassing to be snapped at a d treated like an inconvenience in front of diners in the restaurant. Clearly states £6.95 for a korma but on the phone they are trying to charge me £8.95 stating that is the wrong and it was changed a month ago when its on there right now!! At £6.95, then when i rang back to question thd price of my order the man was extremely rude hung up on me without giving me the price!! Will never order from there again!! Customer service deserves a 0/10 absolutely shocking!! The anount of mondy we have soent at that place!!
Absolutely terrible service, we never received our food and after several calls to the restaurant they finally informed us the driver was scared to make the delivery because it was dark outside, what?? We have requested a refund and may need to go the legal route on this one.
