"Excellent mid priced hotel very close to Longwood Gardens . The room was clean with soft sheets and pillows and the breakfast was surprisingly better than we expected! Would highly recommend if staying in the area."

My husband and I just recently had our wedding in Mendenhall Grand Ballroom on 9/18 and it was absolutely perfect and a dream come true! Gianna Dottie were both amazing to work with before the wedding day arrived. They answered all my emails calls efficiently and always had an answer for me! We mainly worked with Gianna before the wedding and she was absolutely fantastic in responding quickly and always having a second option if we were unable to do something. The day of the wedding Dotti always showed up at the right moment to drive me down to the venue so no one would see me or right before the ceremony to fluff my dress! The food was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. I was part of a group of 10-12 people in town for a funeral and staying at the adjacent inn. We ordered drinks, appetizers, main courses, and dessert. It was quite pricey, but we were prepared for that. The food was delicious, with some unique options on the menu. However, my main issue was with the staff's attitude; it seemed like they took any mistakes personally, as if it impacted their wages directly. For instance, my sister-in-law ordered a crab cake and steak combo, but the waiter mistakenly brought her a lobster and steak combo. The Mendenhall was the PERFECT place for our wedding reception! We have been coming here for years to dine at the restaurant because the food has always been excellent and we have always had a wonderful experience! Planning our wedding was no different. The attention to detail and recommended vendors made organizing a breeze! We also loved the location. The ballroom was absolutely exquisite with the beautiful spiral staircase and glistening chandelier. We couldn't have asked for a more stunning venue. We attended a wedding here last night, and it was lovely! We thoroughly enjoyed our time. As we were following a vegan diet, we were pleased to receive a decent meal, although I felt that with only a few of us choosing the vegan option, the food could have been improved. Nonetheless, I ate it all and enjoyed it! The wedding took place in the Grand Hall, which is absolutely stunning. However, we noticed that having the bar outside the main room led to most guests congregating there instead of in the event room with the DJ. We stayed here on the 9th of October for a wedding, the place is absolutely beautiful, check In was kinda on the late side 3PM we let them know we was part of the wedding party and the ceremony started at 5 pm still 3pm check in. The staff was great and the reception room was beautiful, the wait staff should be awarded all kinds of metals and the food was top notch, not boring and tasteless like most wedding food. The only reason they not getting 5 stars is because I couldn't check in earlier then 3. but next time I will ask for early check in.
I love this place. The wait staff which includes the bartender, was super friendly and accommodating. The wine menu had a great selection and the was excellent. The hotel was very nice, clean, newer accommodations, an outside lounge area with a gas fire pit, also an inside lounge above the main lobby and again great staff. There was a full breakfast from 7-9am with everything you could want for breakfast and I felt very safe. They followed covid protocol.
We visited Mendenhall Inn for a wedding and returned for brunch the next day. Carl, the bartender, prepares the best Bloody Mary I've ever tasted. He uses his special recipe with vegetable-infused vodka and truly crafts it with care. Everyone should definitely stop by and see Carl for a Bloody Mary!
