"A more perfect example of a traditional Spanish square restaurant pulling itself out of the mild into a startling original and splendid eatery you would be hard to find. The mixed salad, shoulder of suckling lamb, and all round great service were of special note, and I was delighted by the whole experience!"

If you go to Zafra, you cannot stop having lunch or dinner in the large square of Zafra, enjoying the atmosphere and the lighting of it. Among all the restaurants, the one that looks the best, spacious and spacious, is this, the Meraki restaurant, which I think is a franchise and exists elsewhere Its restaurant occupies a small covered interior patio and with just 6 tables it offers an attractive and varied menu where we can find both local products and proposals based on fish. On the one hand, a more informal space around the bar, where you can enjoy different tapas options collected in a careful selection of tapas and portions.

We ate here three times on our visit to Zafra. The food on the first two occasions was very good. On the third visit our starter (morcilla) was served without removing the skin, which made it impossible to cut, hence the starter ended up as mush! On the first two visits the service was exceptional. On the third visit, service was completely haphazard. The waiter, served our main course, before removing our starter remnants, no one queried the need for more drinks, or checked that the food was acceptable. A shame, my review is based on our last visit, because, that’s the one I will remember.

We arrived by train from Seville, mid-afternoon. After checking in at the parador, we headed out for something to eat. Always a bit concerned when few places are open. But we need not have worried about Meraki. The food here was absolutely delicious. We had starters of morcilla with quails eggs and of Canelon de Ternera y setas, which had a truffle sauce. Delicious and beautifully presented. Mains of Presa iberica, succulent pork. Washed down with verdejo and Chacona Plata, a local red wine. The fig dessert was very nice. Service was excellent. We would definitely return.

I went to eat here last night with my partner. The weather was unseasonably cold and wet for Spain. The staff were so friendly and welcoming the minute we walked in the door. We are both vegetarian and they were so helpful attending to our needs. We stayed the whole evening sampling some lovely wine and delicious food. A real gem to find. Thank you.
