Small Venezuelan place with decent staff. The server forgot a couple things in the togo order portion, but i cant really blame him cause them cause the server seemed to be the only one there. Nothing major just a drink (which i had gone back for) and the dipping sauce for the churros (didnt realize till i got home). Other than that, super attentive. Food was pretty good, only gripe was the Pernil was a little salty and it was dry. Pricing is a little high, but not like astronomically insane. Chalk that up to the economy I guess. Best restaurant in town, hands down. A lovely, welcoming family establishment with a cute vibe and food that will knock your socks off. You can't go wrong with one of their arepas, but their empanadas are out of this world. My favorites are the Llovizna arepa and the veggie empanada. The food was good. I got the arepa appetizers and was very filling. The veggie empanada was really good. The food is crazy good at Merey! The empanadas and arepas were not too greasy and they were both filled. We also got churros and Tres leches for dessert and they were to die for. The churros had chocolate and condensed milk for dipping (which was amazing) and the tres leches was so sweet. The place is nice and cozy and great for any occasion. The next time I go, Im looking forward to getting some yuca fries.

This is an extremely casual spot, but the food is absolutely beyond. If you’re looking for an authentic Venezuelan experience at surprisingly affordable prices, you can’t do better than Merey. The service is super speedy and not a single menu item disappoints. Would highly recommend the yucca fries (and also everything else)!Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians!

This place is ridiculous. The food is not even that good for the price they charge. The service was not good. This is not NYC to be charging 15$ for a plain cachapa de queso, cheese isn’t even expensive.Food: 1/5

The chicha, though maybe traditional, was way too thick for me. My main dish (braised beef) was cold and was OK flavor wise. Portion was small for the price. Nice ambiance and decent service.Food: 3/5
