Staff are very friendly. I would rather go to the restaurant and sit down to eat then get the catering food. Perhaps when I got the food it was a lesser quality because it was towards the afternoon and close to the end of the event. They were out of several things so I take that in to account. The catering chicken was dry, and rather bland. This is not how the food is at the restaurant so maybe it was an off day perhaps. The restaurant in Madison Heights doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The food is good and southern homemade just like grandma fixes it. Excellent food and great prices. These guys have accommodated a few company lunches for us on very short notice and did a fantastic job. I attended a festival where Merredith's served Brunswick stew and it was, hands down, the best Brunswick I've ever had at any festival. That's saying a lot, I'm 47 years old. I've been to a LOT of local festivals, in my lifetime! Keep doing what you're doing, guys. Bravo.
I needed some place to meet somebody and wasn't even all that hungry. I walked out with a perfectly clean plate. The meatloaf is as good as Mama, makes but it was a close second. Meredith's is delicious. I had the beef and gravy and I honestly think it is the best I've ever had. I did takeout next time I'll be eating there. They have a buffet on some days.
