Nice article in the local newspaper, recommendation by local people - so let's try it - a Spanish tapas is always welcome. the atmosphere is very attractive. The tapas was already not very good, the dates with bacon burned, everything was covered with an unidentified thick sauce. Unfortunately this sauce came back on the main dishes as well. The rabbit was dry and swimming in this sauce. The steak was just prefect but the mushroom sauce was salted as can’t be eaten. The fish was also salted on one side and without any ingredients on the other one. We tried the ice at the end – we shouldn’t do it – no taste as it was the cheapest one from the supermarket. Had dinner for two, quality and quantity of main dishes were ok (grilled salmon, paella valenciana). Two things were far below expectation: the aioli had a far too strong garlic taste, we really couldn't eat much of it, and as open wines there is only the "house wine" available. I asked twice - no choice. We tried the sweet and the semi-dry variant, and both were abominable. This is definitely sub-standard for a Spanish restaurant and the other ones next door are doing a far better job in this regard.

I was there many times, sometimes also with family, and we all like, It's very good, the tapas and all the specialities are fresh, delicious and well cooked, in a spanish way, very authentic, which is not so easy to find. When I want Spanish food here in Hamburg, I always go to Meson Galicia. The service is charming, nice, and friendly. Also fast, and efficient even when the place is crowded. It needs a little bit reforming though, the furniture it's old fashioned and broken.

Visited Meson Galicia on a weekend trip to Hamburg. Highly recommended. Food is authentic Galician and very tasty. We Started with the garlic soup which was excellent, then had the fish platter and the rabbit. A selection of Spanish beers were also available including Estrella Galicia.
