This is the second time my friends and I have visited this restaurant in the last month and each time I’m afraid I have the same observations. Food is very good and obviously is the reason we went back. The first time we visited took them a hour to serve us!! They had a massive party which is fair enough, but they should have warned us couldn’t hear ourselves think !The second time, before booking we asked if they had a party and they assured us there wasn’t. We booked 5 days before and they told us no , but anything could happen . I do not understand why people still visit this restaurant, I have been here 3 times and never had a good meal yet . The thing is, I do not remember how bad it is until I arrive there and then I remember how Mediocre it was on my last visit , but this time the service was so bad I had to go to the front to pay as I had waited so long and we just wanted to go home . I complained to the waiter who just shugged his shoulders and still charged 12.5% service .The food is not good and most of it is pre cooked and to top it all , it is not cheap , I will be not visiting there again and make sure none of my family does .There are plenty of traditional and good Italian restaurant locally
Following on from my previous review I received two weeks after my visit a very expensive parking fine which suggested that I hadn’t registered my disabled details at reception or displayed my badge All a load of rubbish as we were told at reception that being a rugby day all parking was free which we then checked with one of the waiters who agreed. Anyway i obviously challenged the fine and after various correspondence and emails parking solutions have relented but think carefully about your visit to which after all is a rubbish restaurant and whether you need the hassle. Another trick of theirs is to not light up the car park so you don’t see the parking warnings!
Saturday lunchtime.Previously booked and promised a quiet rear room but not available upon arrival and guided to a table in the main area. As with other reviewers, faced with a child’s party in the adjacent area adding to the general frenzy. The food when it arrived was bog standard Italian, pizza,pasta and the desserts seemingly bought in, we had not chosen starters. Prices for 330ml beers over £5 and generally on the high side for food of this quality. Don’t bother to look for the menu on their website as it doesn’t show one. Probably embarrassed at the cost of their food! Which a came to over £35 per person

The meal at this restaurant was extremely expensive and the food was very mediocre. We were also surprised by an additional charge for olives. When we requested extra bread with our soup, we were charged for a ciabatta starter. The service was the most disappointing aspect of our experience - it took a long time to receive our starters and even longer for our main courses. We were informed that the chef was busy serving a large party and cutting their turkey. The staff were dismissive and showed no interest in trying to make things right. Overall, we were extremely unhappy with our evening out.
I challenge anyone to find a better spaghetti bolognaise anywhere in the UK .. you won’t! These guys seriously make the most mouth watering, tasty spaghetti bolognaise ever! And there are no half measures either. The portion size is magnificent and if you fancy spicing it up a bit I’d highly recommend a little dash of their home made chilli oil. I guarantee you will thank me for recommending this fabulous venue , in particular this specific dish. Everyone who works there is so lovely , polite and they genuinely care about their customers.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly and promptly seated at our table. The Maitre'd took our drink orders without delay. The menu offered a wide variety of options. Four out of the six of us selected different main courses, all of which were delicious. The portions were generous, making it challenging to finish everything. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. I am looking forward to my next visit to Cannesdid. -surfingsyd P.S. Parking is available nearby, but it can be difficult on match days.
After receiving poor service and being served mediocre food, we were repeatedly misled by the staff about when our meals would arrive. Despite being promised our food was on its way, we waited nearly an hour for our main courses after receiving lukewarm starters. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different, higher quality Italian restaurant to dine at.

Consistency…this is a corner stone of a great restaurant. Metro Italia is consistently great in all areas, food, service and ambiance. The team are fantastic and led by a knowledgeable host who leads his team with skill and care.
Nice setting. Going downhill. Prices high too high. Quality and service deteriorated. Shame, Must do better.
