Mexicali Blue - Reserva de mesa

Real blue fresh food. Do not think about it as a Mexican restaurant, but as a taco community (you order chips and salsa from the appetizer menu). This is not a cost-effective regular lunch place that will fill you, but a clean place that offers fresh ingredients and full flavors. With this understanding you can enjoy the distinctive blue maize tortillas and friendly service. I ate with two other frequent travelers and we were all impressed by the flavors and simple presentation. I went with the Cali Catfish Taco and the tuna Taco, but if I lived in the area, I would certainly return to try their Burritos and Quesadillas. Pretty yummy burritos and margs! 5 stars for food and service. But honestly soooo not worth the high prices. Every time I think about going to Mexicali lately, I can't justify the cost and end up going to Chipotle. : A little lower quality, but I can get two burritos and two orders of chips for the cost of 1 single burrito at Mexicali... Yikes

We had the short rib burrito and the bang bang shrimp burrito. They were both spectacular. Best burritos we've had in a very long time, possibly ever.
