This is undoubtedly the best Mexican restaurant in Lawrence, and possibly the best restaurant overall in the city. Everything I’ve sampled here has been exceptional. Even my discerning friends from California are fans and make it a point to return whenever they're in town. The Birria is incredibly delicious and addictive, while the fajitas are outstanding. I also love the burritos, and the chilaquiles for breakfast are fantastic. Yes, they do charge for chips and salsa, but it's worth it—so let that pet peeve go! They also have daily beer specials. Honestly, this place is just amazing.
Since the closure of Tortas Jalisco, this has become our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. They offer many of the same menu items as Tortas Jalisco, along with some new additions, all just as delicious! The service is fantastic. My husband and I have been supporting this family's restaurants for so long that they treat us like old friends when we visit. Lawrence has plenty of Mexican restaurants, but Mexquisito is definitely one you won't want to miss!
Chips and salsa aren't free but you will be truly missing out if you don't get them. Seasonal specials are amazing when I have the desire to try something new. Regular menu has great options also. This isn't just Mexican food, it's carefully thought out with a varied selection flavorful chicken, pork, and ground beef (if you are familiar think Penzys spices quality). Best Mexican restaurant in Lawrence by far!
First time eating here. Great food. I had black bean taqueria and my husband had a shrimp dish. Both came with beans and rice, which were good. Fast service. We got our food in a little over 5 minutes. Not bad prices. Each meal was 8-9 dollars. Highly recommend this place.

This restaurant has been located on Mass Street since 2011, and I can't believe we never noticed it before. It's a spacious venue with plenty of cozy booths, a bar table, and a TV, making it a great spot to relax.
Overall, it's a fantastic spot for Mexican food cravings! The staff were incredibly friendly. My waitress, Stacey, was especially cheerful! I will definitely be returning!
