I have lived in Brisbane since 2016 and I shopped at this market at least 1-2x week. I loved when the 2 lady clerks worked there. They were so nice and welcoming. Now that the new owners took over, they fired the nice ladies, items are overpriced and the service is terrible. I will never give another penny to this place ever again after what happened today. I walked into the market to pick up some groceries. I didn 't want to use/touch their shopping basket because of the Covid-19 pandemic and also because their shopping baskets look filthy. I put some of my groceries on the counter and let the clerk know that I was almost done and that he could check out other customers if needed. Mind you...
I've popped into Midtown Market a couple of times now and was surprised at how nice it is inside not at all like an old school convenience store. And for a small shop, the selection is really good they have a little bit of everything, from canned goods (including brands like Annie's) to high end chocolate and even housewares. The prices are pretty high, though, and the produce section is relatively small. Also, the deli area seems to be closed at the moment. Note that the payment system at the front counter isn't exactly touchless on both of my visits, I had to sign a touchscreen with my finger. Ew! But that's what hand sanitizer is for, right? Brisbane really needs this market. Tucked away in the compact two-block downtown area, it feels like a refreshing oasis. This charming little market is surprisingly spacious and well-stocked with a wide variety of items. While prices may be slightly higher, it’s hard to find alternatives nearby. I visited at 8 PM, so the selection of fresh vegetables and Acme bread was limited, and the meat and sandwich counter had already closed. I can only imagine what they have to offer earlier in the day! The service was also very pleasant.
I really enjoy Midtown since the new owners took charge. I recently took a stroll there with my dog and granddaughter. I was looking for fresh Italian parsley, shallots, cheese, and some crispy sourdough bread for dinner, and they had everything I needed. Plus, my granddaughters were thrilled to choose a Häagen-Dazs ice cream treat each! It was just perfect!

This place is fantastic! It's one of the best local markets in the Bay Area, and I'd choose to come here over going into the city any day. The market is incredibly clean and offers a wide variety of high-quality products. I believe any negative reviews come from when the management was different. Overall, this is an excellent market.
Brisbane is lacking in quality food options. For more than fifty years, there used to be a decent grocery store in the area, but now there’s only an overpriced convenience store. We really need a proper grocery store in this town.
This is the best shop in town! They offer a vast selection of products and feature local artisans. The customer service is excellent. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews from some people online.
I am visiting and needed a few items. This store is very well stocked with anything you need. It has many gourmet brands, even artisanal bread! If I lived in Brisbane. I would frequent it often!

The price of a bottle of hand sanitizer is $19. I would prefer if the people working there work their face mask correctly (over their mouth and nose) while ringing you up.
I visit this place to buy cigarettes for my girlfriend. The location is tidy, and the man at the counter is very friendly.
