I have to say Mikado sushi is by far the best sushi restaurant in and around Lake Mary I have a home in New York half hour out of the New York City and I have a second home in Lake Mary eating at a lot of sushi places walked out of lotta sushi places due to the smell of the fishy smell of their food everybody rates Amura apos;s has the number 1 Sushi Pl. I live right by there I have tried it at least four times not only is there food a C grade the people the manager that works there are so arrogant and nasty and like I said being in a restaurant business my whole life I know how to deal with people spicy tuna is my favorite they basically put a piece of fresh tuna and then put the Sriracha sauce on top and call it spicy tuna which in no way in any restaurants or working with my sushi chef is that correct even their simple things are just barely standard I do not know why people rate them as the number one sushi restaurant because they apos;re not even Top 10. My son and I had $180 order and literally it went in the garbage the smell of the fish was just so nasty the rolls falling apart the most important to me is when I told them I was deathly allergic to ginger which I am they had ginger on every single item and when I called this comes into the manager part he was like well that apos;s your fault I said I have it in bold letters everywhere and it apos;s on the receipt how is it my fault and that was it he refused to refund ....refuse to credit.... not that I would ever eat there again but like I said they are beyond arrogant nasty and know nothing about sushi or sashimi or professional conduct on running a restaurant 14 years we come back-and-forth from New York to Lake Mary as snowbirds and every time I apos;ve never had anything but an amazing meal from mikados so they to me my family a 100+ plus plus . THE BEST. Go no where else
We have ordered from here numerous times. Both through door dash and in the restaurant. Usually excellent. The past few times however all of the rolls have fallen apart at the bottom and the quality is not great. We had The Long John Roll. This time the sea bass on top rubbery. We tried the Super Crunch Roll- awful. Super mushy. Nothing crunchy about it. The Drama Queen Roll and the Las Vegas Roll were very good. Butter Spicy Edamame which is typically excellent, was disappointing tonight. Flavorless. Not sure what is happening because this place was excellent. The food had gone down hill in the past few months. I will say however, the service is always excellent.
Usually very good, not on this order though. Gyoza was cold and tough, barely any sauce on the Spicy Spider Roll, King California Roll, Eel Maki. EVERYTHING was just flavorless and tasted day old. Thinking it was because we ordered later (7:30-8) in the evening but in my opinion, close earlier! And regardless, the last service of the day should be as good/better than the first!
