I have been going to Mikado for years with my boyfriend. Usually we go to the west end location and have always loved it. We got takeout from the South Common location on November and we opened the order at home and it smelled...like garbage. It had never smelled like this before so we called the store. The person answering the phone put us on hold for minutes for a manager and then we were hung up on. My boyfriend called the manager and was only told that this was unfortunate. Then he went into the store to show them that the fish smelled bad. They did not care. I am extremely disappointed with this terrible customer service and it is sad that we will have to get our sushi somewhere else. I...
Came here for dinner on a Sunday. Called ahead and they were able to fit us in. Good thing too as they were busy. Nice little place. There were some private rooms and some booths. Good atmosphere not too loud. Great for families or...even for date night. Food was great. We had tempura udon and coast to coast sushi and sashimi delicious. Sushi came in a boat with netting which the kids liked. Ended with green tea ice cream. Staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time there. Even forgot my son's trainer chopsticks and I came back later and they had it at the front. Great service. Will be back next time we are in town.
Ten of us came in unannounced. Since Mikado has a number of smaller we were set up in a double combination. Service was quick with a great selection of items. Most of us chose different Bento boxes which are combination various meats and seafood. Since...it was lunch time we chose the lunch boxes. Still they were large and some of us took some home. The price was reasonable for what you got. (You pay more for a hamburger and fries at a regular restaurant). The included tea was very good.
As a Canadian, I enjoy trying new food and I had the opportunity to experience Mikado Japanese Restaurant. The service was quick and they were very attentive. The food was prepared within view (in the serving area) and it came out very quickly. I had...a few different rolls but my favourite was the dragon rolls! If anyone is looking to take a step into the world of Japanese food, Mikado would be a great first step.

We just got back from eating at Mikado, I have to say very disappointing. The food has gone right down hill. The tempura is greasy, the rolls are filled with pureed type crab that tasted like tuna. The portions are smaller then ever and the...prices are just outrageous. It's definitely not a place I'd ever go for dinner again.
By far one of the best places yet... delicious oysters, tempura shrimp, spider rolls, tuna , salmon... and of course hot saki will definately be back . Almost forgot turtles cheesecake!!
good food, slow service and it is the better one out of the two i believe. server seemed a bit confused and the hostess set me up for four people when it was just myself. i would repeat.
Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. This place is consistent with there food which I appreciate! The miso soup is perfect. Rolls are amazing. I am here multiple times a month!

Excellent food, service and very pleasant atmosphere. The waitress paid attention to your likes and dislikes... Many dishes to choose from.
Have been here many times and every time the food and service are always amazing! Great atmosphere for couples or groups.
