Mikado Laurier - Reservar una mesa

I'm truly surprised! I usually think that perhaps once a restaurant might be off. However, the last few times we have gone to Mikado, they've been off! New management? New kitchen staff? The once wonderful house salad came absolutely swimming in dressing, and not fresh! Our order of hand rolls came as maki, with some apology from the waitress, but with a rather unprofessional attitude. The sushi was not as fresh as in the past. And finally, rather than taking some of the items off the bill for all the errors and bad dishes, instead she brought out some complimentary ice cream in a flavor that I dislike enormously. Too bad about Mikado because in the past I thought it was the best sushi in Montreal. I plan not to return....ever.

I've been in this place for over twenty years, while they were on the other side of the street. They were then (before the arrival of jun i and park) considered number one to show for sushi. food fraicher, originality of compositions, attentive service. Everything's on the date. a little expensive (do not forget that you are on the street laurier west) but less than the other 2 places quoted dams my comment.

We made a $200 delivery order which included specifics for an allergy against seaweed which required that all (or most) rolls be wrapped in rice paper
