Milda's Pizza and More

I took a friend for a treat that I also had been looking forward to. The food was wonderful, coffee great. The ambiance "nordic charm" and the stone fire oven lends such warmth and homeiness that there is a promise of a truly welcoming and delicious experience. Well the food was delicious! 5 stars, just marvelous, but the staff were so sullen and unwelcoming it bordered on incivility. No eye contact or connection of any kind, Take you order, ring it up, go take your seat. Dismissive. Obviously they are very hardworking and industrious lot and I laud them for that, but being met with blank stares and little acknowledgement that you too are a human presence is no way to enjoy a meal. My wife had visited Milda's for lunch with a friend a few weeks ago and brought home rave reviews and half of her 3 Little Pigs pizza made with bacon, ham, onion marmalade, brie and spinach. It was delicious and by far the best pizza I've had in Fredericton. We went together a few days ago and had half of an "All Day B'fast" and another half of a "3 Little Pigs". They have a wood fired oven and the pizza was again excellent. They have very nice specialty coffees, salads and very tempting desserts. The furnishings are rather Spartan, ( think early Ikea) but the food and friendly service more than compensate for that. Ate at this place for the first time last weekend. The food was fantastic. When we arrived, the first thing we saw was the pizza dough being prepared fresh by the chef. You won't find that at other pizza places in town! The pizza was absolutely delicious. Everyone in our party loved what they got. We also got a few salads and some dessert. Again, everything was great! The service was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very laid back, which we really loved. It gave the restaurant a community feel. I was hesitant to try this pizza place for a while because it is located in the basement of a nondescript building on a side street. However, I am glad that I finally gave it a chance. The Vegan Works pizza is the best vegan pizza I have ever tasted. Each time I order it, the toppings are different which keeps it interesting. Surprisingly, my husband even preferred my vegan pizza over his own, so now we always opt for the vegan option. I also tried a slice of blueberry cheesecake which was delicious. We are new to the city and were looking for pizza cooked in a wood oven and just googled it, finding Milda's. It was a bit hard to find, as a new person in the city, being in the basement of a building, but worth finding. They have a great selection of pizzas, both regular choices, as well as ones they change daily, with many uncommon but yummy choices. If you're looking for a "nice" atmosphere, this might not be what you're looking for, the dining area is a bit small, but they do take out and I've now gone several times, always happy with what they've cooked.

This is a great cafe/lunch spot. The pizzas are excellent and the service is friendly. It can be difficult to find in the basement of the Charlotte St Arts centre, but once you've found it, you'll be coming back regularly!

The pizza at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and packed with vegetables, protein, and vegan cheese. I also tried their desserts and chia puddings, which were amazing. They even offer a selection of vegan wines.

Quality food and nice, cosy atmosphere. Definitely the best pizza place in Fredericton by far. They also serve soups, salads, daily specials, vegan options, coffee, lattes, cappuccinos and desserts.
