The food was ok but not memorable. We came as a group for the restive menu for a Christmas party. There was very little party atmosphere and not even Christmas crackers on the table which we thought might have been as it was our work Christmas event. The steak was perfectly cooked in fairness. The onion rustic served alongside was not great. The risto was chewy as opposed to crispy and dry and overcooked. The lettuce salad served with it was a third of the size it used to be but with hardly any dressing, very disappointed with this dish. The prawn cocktail starter was masses of lettuce with tasteless prawns and a pleasant but watery sauce. Overall it was ok but but not very good value for money which is important in the current climate. The service was nice and very efficient.
A week earlier a biz dinner. Everything especially the steak was great. I’d give it a 4.5 that night (the waitress was a little surly/officious). Given how good it was I went with my family a week on. Same waitress although under pressure was very direct with task and less engaging than before. The T bone steak was great (albeit no sirloin) so it would have been a 4. However, the tables next to us had a few ladies with a bunch of eight or more very young children who were using the seating area as a playground. Parents oblivious I mentioned it to a waitress who tutted too but didn’t do anything. More McDonalds than M@C. A shame as it’s a solid 4.5 on a good day.
