I dined here on a Thursday night during the holiday season with a business client. I had a confirmed reservation for a table for two. When we arrived, our table was not ready, the maitre'd apologized and we were offered a couple of glasses of Prosecco to wait at the bar. After an hour of that with no table being available, we accepted to dine at the bar surrounded by club music and a major birthday party, not my idea of a business dinner. The wine I wanted was not available, so the server placed four bottles in front of me, three I recognized from the wine list and considered to be unremarkable, a Chianti, a Ripasso, and an Argentinian Malbec, all priced below $80. The food is great... they recently changed their menu, we went for a friends birthday, took and tried a few things... the salmon and beef tartars were amazing, oysters are on the small size but fresh, the Bham mi sandwiches with pork belly were good, the bhagjis ( or whatever u call their onion fried clusters) were disgusting to my taste all u tasted was onion and tooooooo much oil all I tasted way oil and a after taste of onion and the sauce had waaaaaay too much curry in it, the blackened chicken was like my many, and the fried chicken was good and like by most... personally I do not like to order fried chicken in a restaurant I find that it could the chefs could put something better on th...
My husband and I were looking for a place to have a nice drink in a comfortable spot when we came across Mimi La Nuit. And thank goodness we did! Our server, Joe, was incredibly welcoming and kind, and truly went above and beyond. He made us feel welcome and showed us to a prime spot outside, where you directly face Rue Saint Paul and get to people watch and take in the street's energetic vibe, but at a leisurely pace over a nice beverage. We had such a pleasant experience that we returned the following evening. As we waited for another spot outside, Joe chatted with us and asked about our day. Located on the corner of the street, it seems discreet; you have to enter to discover it. A restaurant where every square foot has been maximized!!!! It seems that the management has renewed its menu and what a delight!!!!! The concept consists of main dishes and sharing plates; it's a discovery!!!! Impeccable presentation, exquisite flavor yes it's really delicious and different in presentation. Due to the small size of the tables, some serving dishes are tiny but still satisfying. I noticed this restaurant and we spontaneously decided to try it out. What a pleasant surprise. The decor is great and the seats are comfortable for spending enjoyable hours while still being cozy with the neighbors. Very suitable for those with small to medium appetites who enjoy tasting delicious and well-presented dishes. We interacted with 5 staff members at the restaurant and all were pleasant and very helpful. I highly recommend it for a lovely evening with friends or a romantic date. I would not suggest this restaurant for those with big appetites. A bit pricey for the quantity, but hey, it's in Old Montreal.
We had a reservation for dinner here for a bachelorette. The servers made sure we were taken care all night. One employee even went out of his way to ensure we got into our next place by getting us on the guest list. The food was to die for as well (have the Chicken Liver Mousse Crostini!). We have no complaints about our time here and would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our stay in Montreal amazing!
