Miriam's Seafood Restaurant

We thought we'd take the family to Miriams for Tea, my partner and I had the fishermen plate for 2 and kids had spaghetti meatballs and a kids seafood basket which they loved... And my kids can be fussy with there food ! They were also offered basket of toys to play with while we waited for our meals.. Housebaked bread was delishes and straight out of the oven.. Not being big wine drinkers the waitress was very helpful with what wine to choose.. We went to Ferrymans on the previous night so we're eagerly anticipating a delicious seafood feast to try and compare. We ordered the beef cheeks and tempura scallops to share for entree and a Greek seafood platter, for one to share which was listed as having 500gm seafood. Firstly the beef cheek was delicious, but that is where the meal ground to a halt! The tempura scallops were soft and wet, not crispy. The seafood platter was disappointing from the time it hit the table. Half the plate was covered in mussels, which tasted okay but the fish, leatherjacket, was tiny and tasted like mush. We had been here 18 years ago on our honeymoon and had looked forward to it coming back but sadly our experience at Miriam's started out bad and didn't improve. We arrived early and asked could we possibly be seated and you would have thought that we had asked for the woman's first born child. We were seated after being told that they would have to move everything around to accommodate us! I have never had anything like it! I have never written a bad post but people need to be aware. We ordered the seafood platter for 2. The grilled fish was room temperature, actually all the food was room temperature. The prawns dry, the oysters & mussels were dry, rubbery & tasteless. The crab cake or fish cakes revolting. (Note in pic it's black). The platter was as though it was precooked. The chef clearly doesn't like food. There must be a new chef because the good reviews on this site do not make sense as shown in pics. Needless to say we left the platter 3/4 untouched. So so disappointed. We had eaten at Miriams 11 years ago and walked out disappointed and still hungry after ordering a seafood platter for 2 which we were told was huge by staff, but seemed only enough for 1 with the seafood being being tough and lacking taste.Thinking we would give it another try after reading mixed reviews for our wedding anniversary, but sadly nothing had changed, my fish was overcooked, dry and certainly not fresh and my wifes lamb was tough, fatty and was missing seasoning.We wont be making the same mistake a 3rd time.

After reading a few reviews we were unsure if we wanted to go but gave the benefit of the doubt and we were not disappointed. The service was incredible with such happy welcoming faces and the food just topped everything off. Started off with the scallops which were delicious then the seafood platter which we almost couldn't finish between the two of us. Everything was cooked perfectly and left us both full which is what we love. Would definitely recommend and we will certainly be back!

That's not a kiss. It's a fail. When the waitress checks with the kitchen for gluten free options and delivers the news that the cous cous is gluten free you have to wonder what you're doing here.We had the Pork Belly which was OK and the seafood risotto which was not. Flavourless, dry stodgy with reheated frozen scallops (uncleaned) and flathead tails (unskinned). I could go on but it's all downhill. Very disappointing... should have taken notice of poor reviews posted earlier.

Table service was an epic wait (nearly 1 hour), very expensive and the seafood platter we ordered was minus the crab which they neglected to inform us they were out of. Very disappointed and won't be going back. Reserva una mesa ahora

Staff were good, food very ordinary and meal was quite expensive. Wouldn't return! Steak was rare even though ordered well done and dessert was overcooked.

What an eclectic eating place along with the great selection of seafood and deserts, this is a must if visiting the Entrance
