Food was just okay. A great spot for a casual quick bite. The potato salad is smokey, tastes like there's BBQ sauce in it, which I thought was interesting and good. The pork ribs were a little on the small side, pretty standard flavor along with the corn bread. We also got the gaucho sandwich with the in house chimichurri sauce which is extremely oregano heavy, perhaps a tad too much oregano but that's just me . Other than that everything was great, customer service was awesome.
I'd intended to share a photo of the brisket I just had, but it was so good I forgot about everything else. I think Mission St BBQ has gotten better than ever since the pandemic. In the past the brisket could sometimes be a little dry, but today's was perfect. And I've always enjoyed their pork ribs. But the goodness comes at a price. The large brisket meal is $24.50 (includes two sides and slice of garlic bread). Draft beer $8.00. Sandwiches are more affordable of course.
5 of us went for lunch last Monday. I have to say I was quite pleased. 1st off there was a roomy and friendly atmosphere. The roar of the crowd was less than most restaurants and I enjoyed that. Service was great. Food was FANTASTIC. The only bad take away (no pun intended) is the lack of French fries to go absolutley delicious BBQ meal. Really like the place. Really love the brisket. Best in the county if you ask me.
This place is amazing. I loved the service and how fast the food came out. All we had was delicious. The maize bread is! The bride is. The pulled pig is. The ribs are. I haven't tried the hot connection yet, because I got full after I had eaten the corn bread that was! I also guess the person is polite and always calls me boss. We'll be back at the next visit to Santa Cruz.
