We had passed by this establishment before, not really giving it a second glance, as the location was not where one would expect to find French Cusine. We were however delighted (on the recommendation of friends) to find that the ambiance and service was excellent. The menu is on the high side , but the quality far outweighed the price point. My favorite adage is you get what you pay for and Mon Ami Gabi hit this out of the park. We will be back for sure with More of our friends to introduce them to this amazing place... 5 STARS! Cest manifique!
The French onion soup is the best I've ever had. The salads are excellent, but be aware that the menu frequently changes. The beet salad and butternut squash soup are seasonal, so be sure to try new dishes without fear of disappointment, as they like to mix things up a bit. The restaurant has an extensive selection of wines and champagnes. The ambiance is lovely, and the service is outstanding. A nice touch is the warm French bread served with whipped butter, which arrives at your table right after you sit down.
My mom and I have been coming to the restaurant for a long time now so it was no surprise that she wanted to have her birthday party at the place. The event planner was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and accommodating to all of our guests. The food was great and they even let the kids pick off of the menu. The price was really reasonable for the suburbs. Overall we had wonderful time, food and experience. My mom and a the guests left extremely happy. PS great French wine selection.
Brad and I visited Mon Ami Gabi on Saturday night and had one of the best meals I have had in ages. Salmon tartare, warm goat cheese with bread and a little tomato sauce, fresh scallops and striped bass. Topped off with some profiteroles. If you are looking for yummy French food and great service, I recommend trying Mon Ami Gabi. <3

I'm really sad to hear that Mon Ami Gabi is closing. I've been a loyal customer since the day it opened, and I can't believe its last day is Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Thank you for all the great memories!

I’m feeling quite sad today. I just found out that my favorite restaurant in Oakbrook, Mon..., will be closing on November 24 after their lease ends.
The food was outstanding! I highly recommend the salmon or scallops. Our server, Jordan, was professional, efficient, and personable.
