One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. It's not only about the quality and uniqueness of the food but also the service, ambience of the place, friendly yet professional manner and getting to know a different culture through the food and people who make it. What a great pleasure!Let me start with this; when you're provided with warm bread and cheese (and apple) at a restaurant while waiting for your entrée, you know that there is only very small risk for things to go wrong at that place.I had the escargot and roasted duck served with the creamed sauerkraut and dumplings. I simply loved the escargot, it was seasoned very well. The duck was cooked to perfection; tender inside and crispy...

What a disappointment for such an anticipated nice dinner! My son, husband and I didn't get what the restaurant portrays. I had their seasonal special, goose, highly recommended by our server...I should have asked how long it had been cooked already. It tasted like leftover turkey after 3-4 days of having been cooked and sitting in the fridge. My husband had the veal schnitzel and it was better than my $65.00 goose/turkey. I would have spoken up about the overcooked-dry 1/4 goose had I known I was paying for the whole goose. My son had salmon and he gave me a piece to try, the fishy taste was so overpowering as if it was spoiled, he struggled to eat it. We tried this place based on their men...

My wife and I were visiting Norfolk and we selected the Monastery from all the available restaurants on Granby. We had no reservation, but a nice table was available so we were quickly seated. John was our waiter, serving at least 2 other large parties. He handled it very well. He was prompt, professional and knowledgeable about the menu selections. He brought our drinks and bread with cheese…a welcome start to our dinner. My wife chose the veal while I decided to try the cassoulet. Both were delicious, full of flavor and well presented. It had been several years since our last visit; the Monastery excelled both times. It’s refreshing to experience a restaurant that is consistently good with...

Definitely a go-to if you want a unique dining experience and cuisine (central/northern European) that you don't get everyday. The co-owner seems to be very present in her restaraunt and personally came to check on her table. She takes great pride in her business, and that comes out in the food. Our main courses (filet and schnitzel) were solid. The schnitzel would have benefited from a crisper breading and a bit more flavor. The true highlights came from the cheese and bread appetizer and the dumpling dessert. Service was great, and the ambience feels higher class than most other fine dining joints in the area (yet always felt homey). Reserva una mesa ahora

We celebrated our 33rd anniversary there, and it was really nice. Our server was very attentive, prompt, and knowledgeable. I had the steak tartar, my wife had the Serbian goulash, they were both delicious. We really appreciated the wonderful blueberry dumpling for dessert, it was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had, hands down! The La Raclette Valaisienne, a cheese, potatoes, pickles, and capers appetizer was also wonderful, and the recommended wine perfectly paired with the fresh, hot bread, cheese, and apple! The owners were sweet, and made sure to ask if our food was okay; of course it was. Highly recommended!

We had a delightful Mother's Day meal at this restaurant. The ambiance is charming and in an old style, which is a unique find for a downtown ice cream shop. The portions were generous without being too large- the complimentary bread, cheese course, main course (deer), and dessert were all just the right amount of food. At the end of the meal, they surprised us with a red rose to celebrate Mother's Day. The food arrived quickly and was clearly prepared with care. The owners have been running this restaurant in the same location for over 30 years, so I highly recommend visiting now to experience it for yourself.

We decided to try The Palest based on reviews and my European background at 6 o'clock and were seated immediately. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and our server was not very competent. The food was just average and the portions were small. We ordered the chicken cordon bleu and the Serbian goulash. For dessert, we tried the flambé crepes (which didn't flambe) and the black forest cake (lacked flavor). Overall, I would not recommend this place to others based on our experience.

This European restaurant exudes old-world charm with a beautiful and diverse menu. The duck dish was particularly excellent. Our server was new, but eager, lively, and apologetic. The speed and level of service met expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. Conveniently located near the Scope Arena, it's an easy walk from there. Reserva una mesa ahora
