Monkey Wrench Smokehouse

I was recently in Greenville for the weekend and asked some locals to eat great places and my buddy Tim Smith said to the short trip to Travelers Rest to his new favorite place Monkey Wrench. As Texas Native I have really missed big beef bbq, so we go into the door and there is a light smoke floating in the ceiling with the big bbq smell I didn't have since we left before Texas! It was near to close, but the place was full and Andy put us at the bar and the guy next to us had this huge caves beef. I will have great hopes at this point. Yummy yummy yummy I have pork in my belly... pork belly corn dog to be exact, perfectly boiled, corn bread is crispy and chicken wing also beautiful and crispy, beautiful on the inside, delicious. Had the Mac and cheese before and it was wonderful. I could eat more, but the portions are perfect for me. Hubby had the hot links, he polished them before I had a chance to try them. A little spice, his hair sweated, but that was good. Service is wonderful, attentive and polite. The atmosphere and smell of smoke are divine. Just a fabulous meal. Sidewall and Rocket Surgery are the same top notch experiences. Recommend them all.

The BBQ and Brisket were so tasteful. The pages were delicious and a few very unique. The victories and hash were great. The banana pudding was lovely - not to taste. Our meals were with two side edges. Next time divide the meat and add a page. Our server, Hannah was full of energy, upbeat and so helpful. She was a super server. You could probably say it because I remembered her name. Eat there for the first time, but definitely not the last. My husband, a former BBQ man, said best BBQ. The BBQ community where he worked had the best and this rival it.

The food was delicious! Best ribs in Greenville! Pig meat and brisket also great! Our waitress was the best, even though she was from New York. The music was a bit loud for the older generation and it made it a little hard to talk, but everything else was so good, cannot really complain about it. Can be a new favorite!

The food was delicious! I had the brisket and my husband had the pulled pork. Andy, the owner was super nice and our server, Claire, was the bomb. We will definitely be back.

Great staff, tender delicious meat and large venue with plenty of room for a sauna and pony. (Reference to “Keeping up Appearances”.
