I gave a five star rating to Monta Factory in Glendale as a gift for Sarge 's wedding by driving several tense miles to get there. This was my second visit to a factory named restaurant in the past three days, and I was eager to try their signature dish.I live in Pasadena, where the original Monta Factory is located on Washington Blvd. It only opens on Tuesdays, unlike the Glendale location, which opens every day. This is Monta?s second location; their original is located in Pasadena. I am so glad they are able to expand towards Glendale because If you are familiar with the location then you know this city is culturally and ethnically diverse with those ofArmenian, Iranian and Lebanese decent! With that said their motto is ?Better than your grandmas- She?ll agree!? Manti orpronounced as Monta is a Middle Eastern, European dish which consists of seasoned beef in small squares of dough, pinched at theends, lined in a tray, baked till crisp finally topped off in a tomato and garlic yogurt sauce. Food is ok. I've been meaning to stop by for so long so when I finally did, I got a lot of of everything. The Monta are just ok. In my opinion there is too much dough around the meat. You can't even taste it, all I could taste was the spices. I also triedthe garlic soup and I ended up throwing it away. Tasted like hot yoghurt to me. I decided to try the Monta burger and that wasalso disappointing. Again, too many herbs and seasonings, couldn't get any flavor from the meat itself. The only thing that Ithought was ok was the cheese boreg. Maybe Armenian food isn't for me but I just wasn't a fan of this place.
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance last year after meeting with a client nearby. I devoured their tasty chicken sandwich and couldn't resist asking to meet the owner. I shook his hand and praised him for creating the best chicken sandwich in Los Angeles. Don't just take my word for it, go and taste it yourself! It's so delicious that you'll want to make it a weekly habit. Their food is of excellent quality and the sandwich is so irresistible that it never even makes it out of the parking lot! Tasty little bites! Stopped in totally on a whim and really enjoyed the Monta dumplings with the tomato and yogurt sauce. I was definitely able to finish the whole Hungry size. And the cheese bread was SO yummy. Great to know that this exists for when I am entertaining.Service was great the staff was helpful and kind. Atmosphere was clean and updated.
Yummy! I had never tried monta before, but they were like small open-faced potstickers. They were delicious and perfect for sharing - meatballs surrounded by phyllo dough. I ordered the Hungry meal, which was just the right size for one person. Later, I went to a potluck and the Hangry meal was the perfect choice!
We decided to visit this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful in explaining the menu. The people working there were very friendly. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and the option to dine on the covered patio.
