on a multi-day motorcycle tour through Switzerland we made a stop in the monte leone on the simplon pass. at the entrance hangs a plump murmeltier which whips on any movement. this has nothing to do with the rating directly, but the nerve factor of the whistle was still so the i-tap...We are sitting in the restaurant, on walliser floor, with magnificent view of the breathtaking panorama and everywhere in the restaurant hang the a4 note on fondue, 28.- p.p.... good, the price is proud, but no matter the excellent taste. fondue ordered and the fiasko started. brot was delivered shortly after, of course completely dry. the fondue was on the table shortly later. on the first look it did not look...
Tricked by hunger on the Swiss Simplon Pass, we stopped off at this roadside eatery for a quick snack. It was a big mistake. Starters come from a mediocre self-serve buffet and main courses are ordered from the kitchen. The breaded chicken escalope was not nice, over-egged and greasy. With a carafe of open local wine the bill came to about CHF27, which as a rip-off. Worse still it took 20 minutes to be able to pay the bill - as the staff were overwhelmed by an arriving coach-party when we sought to settle our bill.Actively unpleasant service...Avoid this place.
Drinking a coffee here seems like a real punishment, maybe it's a political price, to keep someone away? Next time, I'll have coffee out there with a camping stove. Watch that the price is not exposed (at least I did not see it before ordering,) along with the cup immediately put the receipt. not only the coffee is expressed, but also the receipt! Greetings.
This is a restaurant near the top of the Simplon Pass. It is a distinctive circular building, so wherever you sit you get a great view out onto the mountains. Quite expensive but handy if you want a comfort break for a quick drink, snack and rest rooms while travelling on this route.

Wonderful penne Monte Leone, very special. Tip: take salad dressing on the side, as they tend to over-do. Very generous portions, fresh and pleasantly served. Personnel very friendly.
was an exceptional place, but the gerance changed. poor service, cordonbleu 42 franchi and was small and of bad quality. sin! disaster on all fronts!
I just ate. I've never seen such a flattened carving. more panier flour than carving. pommes were too salty and the carrots were not cooked. Pity
as always friendly welcome,the rooms are nice. Those located above the restaurant have a breathtaking view. Breathtaking views. I recommend it.

We took a break in this establishment at the pass of the simplon. very beautiful view and ideal place for a drink or lunch. nice staff.
