Monterey House - Reserva de mesa

After eating here many times, I won't be back. Hot sauce was a tomato in a cup. Our Queso was really big. No. 7 was fry chicken in a flour tortilla. It was specified on the menu, it was marinated. This was clearly not the case. The big baby literally spits it out. She loves Mexican food. At check-out I spoke my concerns about the food. The manager just said good, our food is the same day. That explains why I'm not back. She didn't offer anything else. I paid $37 for a lunch with all our food on our plate 1 2 bites we tried to get down. The manager put crackers on the table and gave the Grandbaby while we eat. She didn't cry for crackers she cried because she was hungry and the food was bad!!...

This place brings back so many good memories from my childhood. My mom, my grandparents, and I used to frequent a location they had in Houston more than 30 years ago. It closed and we had no idea they still had a location oprn. By pure chance my mom stumbled upon this one; it's the only one left and it has been here for 56 years. We planned this outing and drove nearly 2 hours just for supper. It was everything we remembered and hoped it would be. This time though my 7 children were with us. It was my daughter's 11 birthday. More great memories. I got the Monterey deluxe. Great food. We'll definitely be making the trip again. Thank you for keeping this location open! Highly recommend.

They serve only simple margaritas, no aromatized so that a disappointment was. Margarita was just fine. I also had the Enchiladas and didn't like them so much. The chips and salsa were good. My grandparents liked their food more than me, so there? Since the restaurant has been so long, I thought it must be because the food is delicious, but instead I am surprised that it has survived as long as it is. Cafe Del Rio is much better. I cannot recommend this place for good Mexican food.

Was in the area decided to stop in for an early dinner with the family. Upon arriving, there was a distinct sewage smell at the front, but we walked on by and sat in the back. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. About halfway through dinner, I noticed a massive cockroach crawling across the wall behind our table. I jumped up and we grabbed the baby and left. Came in after the rush. The restaurant might have 4 tables that weren't busy at all. The food was good, but the service was terrible. I couldn't get a refill because the waitress was busy working with other employees. But the food and the price were great. I'm back. Everyone deserves a second chance....?

Food had no taste. Asked a question on the menu, and waitress gave me back my menu and said we have two kinds and walked off. Heard her saying she has been there 42yrs. If so she should be able to answer a simple question. Not sure how they stay in business with the horrible food..

Green sauce was watery and NO taste, The Red Salsa was tomatoes Only, no onions, garlic, jalapeno, tasted like can! Ask for cheese Enchiladas to be hot! Too hot, but cold inside! I'm going back!
