Tried this place last Friday after a recommendation from friends, and found it to be a very good choice. After we shared an appetizer, my wife ordered Veal Paillard Milanese Style, topped with a tricolor salad with red roasted peppers, cherry tomato, fresh mozzarella and finished with a garlic aioli a shitake balsamic reduction. My wife judges Italian restaurants by how they prepare and present veal, and she was extremely pleased. I happily devoured Amatricciana with Sausage, which is Sautéed ground sausage, Portobello mushrooms, shallots, peas and Applewood smoked bacon in a pomodoro fresco with a touch of cream, tossed with spaghettini pasta. I’m never one to write a negative review. BUT…It started out lovely, however, the service was beyond slow and was not crowded at all. Can’t imagine if they were. Their credit card machine was down (which I get they are waiting for a new one)but they made it seem like it was my inconvenience and not theirs because my friend and I split it and used 2 cards. Had theytold us ahead of time we would have not done that and it turned into quite and inconvenience to them. And quite rude about it.If they weren’t rude about it I wouldn’t be writing this. Food was good but not over the top. Won’t be returning anytimesoon.
Monticello At Red Bank. Wonderful, my husband and I have eaten here several times, the food is amazing the staff is happy and helpful, the atmosphere is always great and the customers enjoy a great time. <br/ <br/ The menu is consistently good and the specials are a wonderful blend of old world favorites with exciting culinary twists. <br/ <br/ Bon appetite!
My husband and I shared the poached part salad and it friend has the house salad. Both were good. For entrée I had the pescatore risotto, my husband had pasta norma (rigatoni with eggplant and tomato sauce) and our friend had the penne vodka. Weall enjoyed our dishes. For dessert we all shared the lava cake. Unfortunately it was a little burnt.

This restaurant has been on my "Why Haven't I Been There Yet?" list for quite a while So, my wife and I took the dive and went some time back.
Came here a few years later and while the spicy pasta is still way too spicy the seafood risotto was very good. And normal plates now :)

Could not agree less with prior review. We enjoyed the pace of service and ambience and the food was excellent.
