We’ve been writing reviews on Zomato for a while now so when they invited us along to a #zomatomeetup we thought it would be a pretty good way to spend our Thursday evening. The venue of choice was Montpeliers Bar. Situated up in Bruntsfield it’s been open since 1992 and has recently undergone a make-over. We were pleased to see that they’ve still kept their 2 courses for £10 and 2 mains for £10 offers along with the extensive cocktail menu and excellent beer selection. The inside of Montpeliers is spacious, romantic and has a French country vibe to it. When we arrived at 6pm the place was a hive of activity.
I always enjoy coming back to this restaurant. I used to live just across the street and really enjoyed having this amazing place in my neighborhood. It's great for lunch, dinner or just a drink. I shared fish and chips and mac and cheese with Barbitchka during my most recent visit and I loved both of the dishes. The outside seating is great especially during summer. Since this place is usually packed it's good to book a table in advance. The staff is always friendly and very efficient. I'll be back!

If you are in the market for overpriced drink, staff that are under the impression they are the most important thing in the room, a playlist of music consisting of songs and a penchant for treating their half drunk regulars better than everyone else,...step right in.
was with friends to dinner and everything was perfect! the personal was so attentive to us. we wanted to go to the theater and have been pushed a little time. the service was first-class and perfect for us. well done!
First class service, food was quick and good value for money. A real treat. Had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and side of scrambled eggs. Mrs had eggs Benedict. She well enjoyed washed down with a Flat white.
