I popped in after work for a quick bite to eat and a couple of pints of Guinness. I stood at the bar, no one else there but the barman was involved in a very important conversation with his female colleague about something that wasn 't work related. I waited about 1 minute then I had his attention. I ordered cod and chips with mushy peas and a pint of Guinness. That 's very cheap I thought as he took my payment. I watched him pull the customary two thirds of a pint of Guinness then put it down to settle. A couple of minutes later he was out collecting glasses. The female member of staff said Is that your Guinness? and finished off pulling it. About ten mins later the barman came to my table with a large portion of chips and a pot of mushy peas. I looked at him and said Did you hear chips and mushy peas? Yes he replied is that wrong? I explained that I had asked for cod, chips and mushy peas. In fairness he did apologise and offer to replace it but I declined. I pointed out that if he spent a little less time gassing to his colleague and a little more time listening to customers the problem would not have occurred. So to Callum, work is called work for a reason. Pay attention, listen, customer service.
