Unable to find a menu on line (apparently problems in posting), New menu being adjusted today, - after calling the pub to confirm at least currently that Wednesday nights is - Steak Night, decided to dine as I'd promised myself this for Months, at least. I ordered a steak with poutine style fries and a Cesar salad. I was vocal in telling the waitress in what I wanted and how I expected it cooked. Medium rare. Her response kind of took me back a bit momentarily. "If it's not done the way you want- it goes back to the Kitchen". Nice. Steak was as expected in my ordering, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. Best steak I've had out dining in far to long a time. Sides were as expected as well....
We decided to try this place. We had been wanting to go for quite some time but never got around to it. We're glad we went. The food was amazing. Good Lord, I wish we would have went sooner. I had a hot hamburger and my wife had baked haddock. Doesn't sound like much right? Well it is. The sauce on the hot Hamburg was amazing. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. Even the side veggies were delicious. My wife said she's never had fish that good before. Don't let the fact that its a pub stop your from going. You will be missing out on amazing food, trust me. You need to go try it out if you've never been. We will be back for sure!
Went for the Wednesday Night Steak. Steak and Sweet Potato Fries ware first rate. The Czar Salad was a let down, again. Firstly 7.95$ for something served in a small soup bowl- is plain wrong. Dressing was good, home made, lettuce limp and warm. Poor. No Parmesan shaker was offered. Secondly - full price for a bargain LNB 1.25$ beer charged at the same price as a Premium Beer and served in a can, is also wrong. The aforementioned has been brought up with Management and yet to be addressed. I will surely return, however- until I hear first hand knowledge of changes, I will be much more selective on ordering. Stopped for lunch on way from St John to PEI. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy. It came with interesting mix of stir fried veggies, which I enjoyed. They offer soup as a side -- it was chicken noodle and seemed homemade. My wife had a BLT sandwich, which was pretty ordinary. Wednesday night attended the local Steak night. New menus completed, prices did not decrease. Had a czar salad, steak perfectly cooked, sweet potato fries (goes well with steak). Steak was superseded even by the last I'd had there, excellent. Great meal- service and Staff. Highly recommend.
