Mother Bear’s pizza is an iconic part of Bloomington and the Indiana University culture! The unique experience they give is to be able to sign the walls and seat backs. I didn’t see any rules posted about not signing the tables or wall art but people seem to respect the process and avoid those areas. And what about the food you ask? It is good. I personally like the deep dish with sauce on top. It is Chicago-esque style if you order it that way. A small 10” square pizza in that style will run you about $20 before tax and tip. The standout moment, however, came the next day when we realized I had left my Fanny pack at the restaurant. I called the restaurant on Sunday morning in a panic, but the woman who answered was very kind and confirmed they had it. Since I couldn't return to pick it up, I asked if I could pay to have it shipped to Iowa. She suggested I call back on Monday to talk to the General Manager. When my husband called on Monday, he spoke with Steve, who not only agreed to send it back with no charge, but also had it shipped that same afternoon. Mother Bear's is awesome pizza. The west side location is a little more open and spacious than campus. Same great flavor. DID YOU KNOW, that on your bday, Mother Bear's will give you a percentage discount equivalent to your age? I recently learned this before my son's bday, so we only got about .86 off, but my husband and I plan on hitting them up on our big days from here on out for more sizable savings.

The service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. They forgot to bring one of our party's orders and then forced us to pay a mandatory gratuity, suggesting we add an extra tip on top of that. We will not be returning here.
