I usually really enjoy Motor City Wine but this past week I was less than pleased with my experience. The bartender was extremely dry, short and nearly rude. When I asked I attempted to order my favorite wine, I was told “ We don’t have that” it wasn’t what he said as much as how he said it. There was no follow up of “consider this, have you tried this , etc”. I thought I was maybe a one off, but when my friend arrived who isn’t necessarily a “wine drinker” he was met with the same energy when asking for suggestions or recommendations. He was told “It’s wine, dry, sweet, semi -sweet, rose or get a beer.” We were both very disappointed and opted to leave within 20 minutes. There’s no requirem...

UPDATE: Original post: This may be my favorite spot in Corktown for Sunday day drinking. The music is fantastic, the crowd is great, and the owners are wonderful. After spending a few months here, I can confidently say this place has a special place in my heart. I've met the most amazing people, and the vibe is incredible. Everyone here is fantastic—Melissa, Tom, Michael, I love you all. I was tempted to keep this place to myself, but I've decided to share it. They have the best sake collection at any bar in Detroit, excellent summer wines, fantastic music, and just a wonderful atmosphere all around!

Funky. Fun and festive little wine bar. Outside space has music and plenty of seats in addition to space for dancing! Food trucks were out back the night I was there but not sure if they are always an option. MCW has been doing Detroit proud for over a decade! It’s a classy little spot but not expensive and not boogie! I think my favorite thing was the outdoor patio with a DJ and dance floor!

Motor City Wine has become my new favorite spot for outdoor live jazz. They serve a variety of wines as well as non-alcoholic drinks. The staff is always courteous and friendly. They have a lovely patio at the back with plenty of seats where you can enjoy the music. The musicians are very talented and perform a wide range of jazz genres. Awesome place for wine (and Tango dancing on Wednesdays! . Really cool place to hang out, super authentic—not much to complain about, though plan to have dinner elsewhere if you’re hungry (no full kitchen, just some charcuterie etc . This place is all about the wine.

This place always has a great atmosphere. My favorite event is Beautiful Sundays with DJ Rick Wilhite, who sets up an amazing musical experience on the patio every month. Treat yourself and come check it out!

Rude staff cold service I was told to tell them the type of wine I like. I gave them a selection of my favorites and was told just pick something.

Best place to have a glass, a wine or a bottle! Don't forget to get wine to go. They sell them by the bottle!
