We ate dinner here one night when staying at the hotel for a long weekend (see separate review). The restaurant here is first class. It is located in a converted mill building by a river. As you arrive you are shown upstairs into a lovely dining room, spacious tables, comfortable seating. A good start! And as for the food well what can I say. I started with Madagascan prawns that were served in an "Asian Fusion" style - among the best dishes I have tasted. My husband had foie gras, equally good - and then we both had roast onglet with shallots - marvellous. Only the fact we'd eaten well at lunchtime prevented us going on to a dessert or cheese. Extensive wine list with a good choice served b...

We normally stay in Travelodge, Ashford when we just do a wine run but this time we decided we would make it more of a mini break. The location of the hotel is very pretty and we had a lovely view from our room of the river and weir. I am vegetarian so we didn't eat at the hotel as it was a small set menu, but I'm not complaining as this is something I'm used to on our many French holidays. In fact we drove to Saint Omer to eat where there is a good choice of restaurants. The service at the hotel was excellent, good room with a huge bed. The shower wasn't great but that is the only criticism I have. We had a delicious breakfast in a bright airy breakfast room and there were beautiful clean w...

We booked this hotel because our normal choices in Coquelles were full. It was about 40 mins from the tunnel but looked nice so we took the chance. What we found was a hidden gem. At the price we paid we would have struggled to get a Kyriad or Ibis and this is so much more. The location us quiet and on its own, great parking and Wi-Fi and the owner and his wife are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good quality and plenty of it. The only down side for me us the restaurant serves top class food and I am much more meat and two veg. However if you like your food to be an experience you would be more than happy. All if the staff we came in contact with couldn't do more to help. We loved t...

The hotel is in a lovely rural location by the river, as its a converted mill. Room clean but basic. We booked this hotel as we were on our way back to UK and it is close to Calais and the restaurant had good reviews. Sadly I was very disappointed with the restaurant. It is in a separate building to the hotel,no atmosphere, no music, service slow and food very disappointing for me.Overall we found it extremely expensive, particularly the wine which in in the region of 50 euros a bottle and not that good. What we though would be a reasonably priced stop ended up very expensive.Breakfast was fine.

This is a lovely place, ideal for a stopover. Yes, as previously mentioned, the hotel rooms are modern, but they are warm and spotlessly clean, ours had a wonderful view of the river and waterwheel. We stayed on Christmas Eve and ate in the restaurant....Traditional French cuisine, lots of locals enjoying the ambience. Service was fabulous, the 3 waiters/waitresses made carrying plates of food and trays of drinks up the curved wooden staircase look easy. Breakfast was more than adequate, good selection and plenty of it. We will certainly return to this lovely hotel.

Each and every dish was a delight upon the tongue, complimented by a very pleasing selection of wines. The list to which Monsieur Delbergue is delighted to discuss with you. It is not fast food, it is not designed to be. The restaurant has pride in its creations and the staff are exceptional. The 'Family' are very polite, helpful and constantly happy.A good selection of breakfast foods are to be had each morning, along with a good Lunch.

If you are deciding to pop over to France for the day and want to sample some superb French cuisine, then look no further. Just 25 minutes in the car from the channel tunnel this restaurant will not disappoint you! Very friendly staff who have...excellent English so no worries there and beautiful food. There are set price menus for three, four, five and seven course meals (you chose your dishes from the main menu). A fantastic evening!

We felt a little cheated when we arrived as most of the photographs featured on the website showed the wonderfully characterful building that the restaurant is in. The hotel rooms, by comparison are in a more modern building and are rather bijou .. While comfortable, we...didn't feel that they were value for money and in keeping with the standards of the adjoining restaurant.

she stayed here for a night before our return to calais and then to london. our room was spacious and clean and looked directly over the duck and geese filled stream. an breakfast buffet was delivered, which was more than sufficient for our needs. we had. dinner in the adjoining restaurant, which was housed in an old mill and was also good.
