Moulin Joli Brasserie Hotel de Ville

We chose this charming Brasserie for lunch after a hot and tiring walk down from Croix Rousse. The waiter was cheerful and quickly got us the cold drinks we were desperate for! We ordered two selections from the 'plat du jour', which was extremely reasonable. One was a salad with a generous helping of Bayonne ham, magret du canard, and lovely fresh greens, and the other a traditional cheese and onion pie with a large green salad. The pie was made on site, and was easily one of the best I've ever tasted. we had little time on midday, which is why the slow, inattentive service has disturbed us greatly. the foods offered were in order. a tarte salée was excellent, the noodles carbonara somewhat needy to get used (but not bad): much speck, no cheese, sauce much too liquid. the then ordered cheese St-Marcelin came warmed and pretty draped.

To drink a pressure or a coffee, without entering a chain thing, this is where you have to come. The boss (?) was smiling on December 25th. a well-preserved old frame, but a small touch of modernity would do good. We still have to meet the lean curator.
