I cannot lie about this place. I had a doordash delivery going to Fondren. Whatever they ordered smelled like gold in the air. It filled my car and I cut my Dashing shift short and went back and got dinner. When just the smell makes you say, ok I'm gonna go spend some cash then you know it's good. The food was fresh, the rice cooked perfect not over cooked. It's right where you can buy authentic gourmet soy sauce (Which there IS a difference) .. Every single thing I can say is, go there and if you don't love your meal I will pay for it.
I'm not sure how anyone could doubt the authenticity of an Asian restaurant that offers chicken feet or bullfrog on the menu. While I didn’t order either of those, they are featured on the menu with photos. I tried the dumpling soup, egg rolls, and chicken pad thai. Everything was good, though claiming it was amazing might be a stretch. The restaurant is located in a shared space with a large Asian grocery store, which seems to be very well stocked—comparable to some of the best I’ve seen in Atlanta.
We have been here a few times recently and the the cuisine is consistently very good. They have dishes I have not seen elsewhere such as crazy chicken, beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce, and house garlic pork which is fantastic! There is also a market there with a good selection of vegetables, canned/bottled items and fresh seafood. Well worth the stop! We live 200 miles away, but every time we are in town we go to Mr. Chens.
The staff was very rude and disrespectful. I noticed that they were VERY polite towards white and Asian customers yet rude and non-attentive to black customers. My food was subpar to say the least. They actually deserve NO stars.

I haven't had anything that I did not like. Well, except for the matcha tea that tasted like roasted rice. However, that was on me. It clearly listed as the third ingredient.
I absolutely adore Mr. Chen's! It's an excellent restaurant and grocery store. They offer fantastic fresh seafood and produce.
The flavor of food are very good but the prices are little expensive than other places, portions are tiny compared with prices
