Naca'n is a world class restaurant in la zona colonial, probably the first fine dining restaurant in this area. I come to DR on business and bring my clients to the old city because it's quite impressive. This restaurant has a great ambiance and the music is not too loud. You can actually hear and you don't have to shout. That is so important for business lunches and dinners. Speak-easy restaurant/bar. That is definitely a plus. Steaks are exceptional, cooked to your liking, they actually understand what med rare is. Quality is A-1 . Portions are large so it's better if you share the side dishes with another person. The food is outstanding. We travel all over the world we know when the meat is good quality. The meat is grass-fed, dry-aged, and organic, you don't need heavy seasoning. We have been to other restaurants in DR and notice they pile on the oregano and other spices. The meat at Naca'n is clean and simple, salt and pepper, that is it. The price value was right on point, you go to NY and Chicago and you pay the same prices. This meat is imported from Chicago (Allen Brothers) per description of restaurant. Food is amazing. Good wine cellar. Service is outstanding. Lacking a bit of ambience. It’s expensive but food doesn’t disappoint so it was worth it. Had the carpaccio, oysters and pork belly as appetizers. Everything was perfect. 14oz ribeye for dinner was perfect.
