The search is over!! Trying to find good, authentic soul food is no easy feat in Seattle. But, Nana’s is where it’s at. That fried catfish just fills you with joy. The large chicken wings- what!?!? No salt, seasoning needed. It’s all done just right. And the Mac and cheese. Yea we finished that. We were not leaving that behind. And that hint of sweetness in the potato salad was perfection. Now, don’t go just for the food, the women taking such pride in their 4 generations of soul food are as delightful as the food. Do yourself a favor and go get you a plate. You won’t regret it. Support for such amazing local businesses are what makes a community great. Thank you for the amazing meal and such kindness. We will be back.
Let’s start off with the cleanliness and atmosphere was amazing with gospel music playing in the background the feel of being inside big mamas kitchen on a Sunday. Customer Service 9.7/10 my original choice was getting the Chicken, but I was talked into getting Catfish. The lady actually let me taste the catfish prior to purchased, and it was seasoned well. Now, I purchased Catfish Nuggets, Yams, and Cabbage. My friend ordered Chicken, Collard Greens, and Potato Salad his order was messed up they gave him catfish as well. The Catfish was a 9.5/10, Yams SOLID 10/10, Cabbage 7.5/10 (need more seasoning), Greens 8.5/10, and Potato Salad 8.5/10.
Let's just say I was very disappointed. One picture I started, the other picture I was one and done. The catfish was the best out of everything, but I was hopeful to no avail. I have my leftovers to a homeless person that would enjoy it more than I did . Because at $62 $20 tip) I did not want to waste it. However, the service was superb in the atmosphere was very chill.
Family inspired, Love intended, the history of this place is beautiful, you can taste the intent in every bite, we didn't capture a picture of the incredible plates, I have waited a long time to taste love food like this. Thank Kyan for sharing your family with my family. We will be back!
