Was there one night with son in law, had a couple beers, sausage, beer was good, waiters friendly, everything was alright until some young drunk guy started messing around with their mopeds out in the street. Lot of noise, lots of smoke, You could not hear yourself talk, nobody seemed to care, management did not do anything about it. it lasted for quite a while, so we had to go somewhere else. Fortunately, there are other more quiet venues close by.
I think that this may be the only bar in St Valery s/s, all the others are restaurants. These are ok for a drink only at certain times as mostly only meals are taken between say 12-2 and 7-9:30/10pm. however this little bar is ok for drinks anytime. Couple of table outside and a few seats inside sums up this cost little pub with good selection of beers and pleasant staff. A little english is spoken.
Disappointed. We hopped in at around 11am in a late morning on Thursday. We were excited to eat a pancake because it was announced so in this café and we especially walked in for that. The owner bluntly said that there was no dough and that was it. Very strange. Knowing that you can easily make pancake dough. Small bit of advice; make an effort please.
We visited last weekend and we discovered this cafe/bar and at once felt comfortable. We only had either coffees or drinks depending on time of day but can honestly say we thought they were really friendly. We didn’t eat there but the food we saw looked very nice. Nous nous y sommes arrêté pour prendre un verre et nous avons été conquis par ce bar typique dont les cafés sont excellent et le personnel sympathique et chaleureux. C'est une adresse que nous retenons pour notre prochaine visite et nous nous laisserons tenter par la petite restauration.
Rituel du soir de nos vacances Bon choix de glaces artisanales et chantilly faite maison. Il y a la queue tous les soirs mais ça défile assez vite. Le moins 3€ la boule, un peu cher mais bon… tout est devenu cher…
after a walk to st valery on the sum in the middle of winter, a warm chololat break is welcome. nanouchka is the right place. I recommend the caramel butter cake and salted butter with homemade whisk supplement.
