I have been here a few times, especially for the pizza, and I always take out. The pizza is great. This time we decided to eat in. What a mistake !! First of all, they need more help. The waitress seemed to be working the front desk as well. Trying to get a glass of water was a big production. We ordered an appetizer and was told that they ran out of potatoe croquettes so chef gave us more of the other items. That was fine. What surprised me was when they brought our pasta dishes, and we asked for grated cheese, the waitress said they ran out of cheese!!!. This is an Italian restaurant, how do you run out of cheese?. Ridiculous. Also, portions were small, especially for a 24.00 plate of past...
The best pizza I have ever had, like eating in Italy. They make fresh Gluten Free pasta and other dishes but do not order the Gluten free pizza it is terrible. ThIs is my new Italian place. ADDENDUM: The owner kindly responded. I recognize that these are tough times for restaurants (and everyone else), and food prices are high. However, a 6-ounce portion? There have been other complaints about portion sizes in these reviews. Maybe the issue is that in America, pasta isn't typically viewed as just the primi piatti, one component of a multi-course meal. Diners here often expect pasta to be the main event, so a 6-ounce serving feels more like a snack than a meal—perhaps enough to feed a sparrow! LOL. I'm not saying this restaurant is bad; it’s not. But it definitely falls short of expectations.
Although this Italian restaurant is a bit out of the way, the food truly resonates with me. The orecchiette alla barese was fantastic, and I absolutely loved the pasta with broccoli rabe. The sausage had a nice kick to it, which complemented the dish perfectly. I really should have ordered garlic bread to go with it. I definitely plan to order from here again!

The wood-fired pizza was fantastic! The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. They don't have a wine license yet, but we were informed that you can bring your own wine. The restaurant is small, so they do a lot of takeout, but it really gives you that authentic Italian feel. Enjoy!
The pizza was decent, but I ordered a San Benedetto Italian Iced Tea (Peach) and received a Brisk Lemon Iced Tea instead. If they were out of stock, that’s understandable, but the price difference is two dollars. A can of soda costs two dollars, and that’s what I ended up with—a can of Brisk.
Heard good things so I gave them a try. Not disappointed in the least bit! I just got a pizza but other stuff looked good as well. I'm a hard grader and I'd still give this a high score! Can really taste how fresh the ingredients are. I'll definitely be back!
Chef Gigi's Place is an intimate restaurant that serves excellent food, which tastes like it is cooked individually for you. The staff is very friendly and attentative.
