Portuguese bakery in Studio City/Sherman Oaks. Natas Pastries features home-style Portuguese pastries based on traditional recipes dating back to the 17th Century. Their signature pastry is known simply as “Natas” and is a unique product. All of their elegant pastries are made fresh daily by hand and are designed for any occasion. I went for my first time with a friend and ordered the Mediterranean plate which included Portuguese prosciutto, olives, mozzarella, tomatoes, and bread. The prosciutto was excellent as I never knew there was such a thing as Portugese prosciutto? I tried my friend’s Folhado de Salsicha which is a puff pastry with chicken sausage it was flaky but a little dry. I was surprised to see that they had such a wide selection of cuisine. I thought I was just going to a bakery but they also offer a breakfast, lunch, party and store menu. This place is small and quaint and easy to miss, but worth searching for a parking space.

I stumbled upon this delighful Portuguese bakery in Studio City/Sherman Oaks while having my car washed. The car wash facility had samples of their pastries and it compelled me to check it out. It’s a quaint place, I have taken my out of town visitors and they were not disappointed. The owner Fatima is a wonderful lady, her team is super friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have. Now it’s become a ritual for me – I get my car washed, walk across the street and devour their ready made pastries and sip my coffee al fresco. I’ve only eaten the pastries and I did have breakfast/brunch just right after Christmas and the mediterranean platter that a friend ordered was really good – plate full of different types of prosciutto, olive, mozarella, tomatoes, and bread.

I have been a customer of Natas Pastries since it opened two years ago and by far this bakery is the best bakery around. You can only compare it to bakeries you would find in Europe. The cases are always filled with beautiful baked goods and everything tastes home made, so fesh! Highly recomend !
