We were given the choice to sit in the front or rear dining room, and we opted for the latter for no particular reason. Both spaces are cozy and intimate, exuding a wonderful historic charm. Keep in mind that this is an old building, so it has its quirks and a bit of a distressed character, but that just adds to its unique atmosphere compared to chain restaurants like Applebee's or Outback Steakhouse (do those still exist?). The furniture is a bit worn, but acceptable. One of the chairs I sat in had a sagging seat, which was slightly uncomfortable, but it didn’t detract too much from the experience. The menu offered a nice variety, and I decided to treat myself to a Porterhouse steak for $5...

18183 Main Street, Jamestown, 95327, United States Of America Reserva"We missed a year but made it this year under new ownership. Our favorite room #7 was just as we remembered, while cocktails, such as the pom-tini, were also as good as before. Fortunately, I reread my last Yelp review, so we ordered the gorgonzola garlic dip, which was as incredible as the last time. Service was great, with the same classic ambiance we have come to expect here."

Felt the need to get out of town last night.. so I drove until I ended up in Jamestown. I looked up farm fresh restaurants on Yelp and the National was the first one that popped up. I was only a block away, so I decided why not. I 've recently moved to Coulterville and have yet to try any places in Jamestown. When I walked in I was greeted by the bartender Brian. I ordered the kale salad topped with the tri tip ends and a side of warm olive bread. It was all super yummy but the bread (baked in house) was my favorite! What I appreciated most about my meal, was the conversation I overheard behind me while eating. It was the owner talking to a couple that was dining, and she was talking about h...
We started with a garlic blue cheese appetizer that was fine, though it had a soupy consistency that felt a bit unusual. For our main courses, we ordered the French chicken, which was well-prepared, and a seafood dish that was unfortunately quite bland. On the plus side, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was lovely. We took some time to explore the dining room and enjoyed looking at the old photographs on the walls. While we would consider returning, we’d likely opt for a burger or something simpler on our next visit. I understand the pricing reflects the area's market and the restaurant's standing, but the dinner entrees don't seem to justify a cost of $35 or more.
I'm 63 years old and have been eating out since I was 15 and this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. I stopped there with my family on a Friday evening around 6pm. The waitress kept using excuses for the problems in the kitchen. And several parties arrived after us were served and left with no issues. We were there for 2.5 hours and only got a portion of our food and we had to tell them to stop cooking because we head leave. The food that we received was terrible. If the manager has any questions on my experience, he or she can message me. I own a service business and know what good service is, and this was terrible. Reserva una mesa ahora
I had dinner Friday evening here at this restaurant. There was nobody to greet us we stood there for a good 10 minutes still nobody. I went to the bar and the bartender seated us. The waitress was nice but she wasn't informative about what the restaurant had to offer.. we had to ask about the specials on the menu.. The water tasted awful there was a chemical taste.. the salmon was good but the potatoes were over cooked like they had been sitting for a long time could not eat them. The overall experience was not good and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Stopped in for drinks and appetizers, wish we hadn't. The food and drinks were adequate, although small portions. The service unfortunately was terrible. The order was never correct, despite correcting the staff numerous times. The dinning room was freezing, we asked the staff if they could close an open door that was causing a cold draft and they refused despite us being the only ones in the dining room. Unfriendly, small portions, staff not interested in customer service, skip if you can.
We stayed here for over a week and loved it! Edy, Brian and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very cool and they say haunted by Flo the friendly ghost. The room was very clean and comfortable. I loved the history of the town and the hotel. So much more fun than staying at your traditional motel type environment. The restaurant was also excellent with a cool separate full service bar dating back to the 1800's. No complaints. We will return!
I discovered this charming little town during a day trip with my best friend, and we enjoyed the most delightful breakfast here! She ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were absolutely delicious, while I had the stuffed French toast, which was just as tasty. The service was excellent, and the hotel itself was beautiful. The prices were quite reasonable, and the overall experience was fantastic. I can't wait to return and book a room for our next visit! Reserva una mesa ahora
Our first overnight stay at The National Hotel. We live old, historic hotels and this one did not disappoint . The rooms are charming and decorated with antiques. We stayed in room #2, which faces to the balcony. Lovely balcony to enjoy a cocktail. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The bonus, it's pet friendly. We absolutely enjoyed our time here and will return to stay again
