I've usually had great experiences at Nation's Giant Hamburger, but this visit disappointed me. After paying, my order never started, and it took about 15 minutes and my friend's intervention to realize it hadn’t even gone to the kitchen. Meanwhile, everyone else in my party who ordered after me had already received their food. There was no apology or compensation from the staff for this mistake. The bathrooms were dirty and had a terrible odor, and the overall ambiance was unclean, with many tables left unwiped. I felt bad for suggesting this place to my friends. Unfortunately, this visit was a real letdown.
The fries were just awful. Soggy, limp, greasy sticks of potato. I'm sorry, but any self-respecting burger joint has to have decent fries. Burger was kind of okay but definitely not up to the price tag. Service is quick and friendly but that doesn't make up for the food. It's one of the few late night options in Alameda so I guess that explains why they're not out of business yet. Quality and value are much better at In-N-Out Burger. The only reason to come here is if you don't want to deal with the lines at In-N-Out. They are popular for a reason. This place doesn't deserve to remain in business.
The quality of food at Nation's has been deteriorating over the past decade. Burgers aren't as good as they used to be and now if you order a chili dog to go you get a sloppy mess in a box. It tasted as bad as it looks. I'm sure food in prison looks more presentable than this. If I didn't have to drive back I would have gotten my money back. Save yourself a trip and go to a different restaurant.
This restaurant is not worth the price. For the past 15 years, it has been known for having black mold on the ceiling panels. They recently replaced some panels and added flat-screen menus, but still believe they can charge the same as a week's worth of groceries. We will not be returning.

Normally Nations is much friendlier and happier. The food is always great but this one my onion rings were burnt and they didn't fix my hamburger the way I wanted it. Normally it's a whole lot different depending on which one you go to but I love
Awesome little burger place that also does breakfast all day and makes great milkshakes. I had a breakfast burrito and it was fresh and delicious. Very much a good alternative to McDonald's or some other generic fast food.
Parking: Downtown Alameda on a Saturday is like many bayarea cities. We'll past its prime. The Bof A bank across the street closed as well as the store fronts next to Nations. So plenty of parking.
I love Nation’s visiting my hometown from Memphis all my childhood memories of trips here came back and food and famous cheesecake still delicious!
