New Hong Kong Restaurant

Well having lived and eaten in Vancouver, Richmond, Calgary, etc. we stopped in at The New Honk Hong restaurant and were surprised by the menu. After talking to the owner we placed our order and were astounded, the food was on par with some of the best we have had. Definitely not your typical western Canadian Chinese, this was authentic cuisine. We will be definitely returning every chance we get. Tip - ask for the shrimp dumpling soup, wasn't on the menu yet but fresh made and excellent.

Good selection of Chinese dishes as well as Vietnamese dishes considering Fort McLeod is the farming/ranching country so cannot be compared to Calgary which has a large ethnic population. The dishes offered are tasty and well portioned. The owners are friendly and service is great .There is a number of selections for their dinner for one at a reasonable price.

Was travelling through Fort Macleod on business and thought I'd give this place a try. Big mistake. Food was very bland and they tried to make up for it by throwing salt at it. Could very well have been the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The waitress was pleasant but it's too bad the food was nowhere near the same.

I was not that all impressed with this new restaurant. The portion size was very large. I had the Hong Kong chicken chow mien, the taste was very bland. When the meal arrived I thought it was a good serving but as I pushed away the veggies I found that the whole plate was just noodles with veggies on top. Reserva una mesa ahora

We got in to town late (8:55pm), needed supper, all places were closing at 9:00, but these people were friendly, took our order, and stayed open! (Their closing time was 9 as well). The food was good, but they really made an impression through their hospitality!

Ate here for lunch. Found the dishes not what you expected with some questionable smells and tastes. Chicken was dry and most food lacked flavor. Staff was decent and restaurant pretty nice for Chinese in a small town. Try China City or Silver Grill instead.

I happen to love Chinese food and this restaurant has great owners that do your best to make your visit comfortable. They have great Won Tons and egg drop soup. I love their sweet 'n sour spare ribs and the variety you get when you drop in for their buffet!

It use to be the place to eat in macleod 10 years ago. Now all the locals avoid it. No renos, smells like cat pee. Rather take my chances at 7/11. Had to eat there because they have a large room and I was invited to a party there. Reserva una mesa ahora

I came into town to visit family and really liked the people and the food. Food was tasty and the wait staff were friendly and not at all racist like the other chinese restaurants we visitied. I will definitely come back again

I have never had such flavourless, over-priced food anywhere in Canada. Avoid this place, it is disgusting, kept going only by the fact there are so few restaurants in this town. Pathetic place.
