My wife and I ordered a banquet for two and I requested fried ice cream in place of the nut sundae and offered to pay any difference, changes at a cost are clearly stated on the menu.We received a flat no as an answer and when my wife commented on Facebook the replies were quite nasty.The person replying should not be in the hospitality industry if they cannot deal with constructive criticism.The rice was bland and the other dishes were not great either, I would not recommend this place to anyone...
Called in for a Sunday dinner and didn't have a booking. We were taken to a table and offered a menu and drinks. The service was excellent and the decor was lovely. The meal was excellent with plenty of food served up, in fact we brought home enough in takeaway containers for our lunch the next day. They seemed to be doing great trade in takeaway meals also. The total cost was quite reasonable so would certainly recommend.
We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant on Sunday October 2. Our family of 4 adults chose the second banquet deal on the menu and all courses were delicious. The garlic prawns were exceptionally lovely and creamy but my favourite was the pork spare ribs!The staff were very friendly and helpful and this all made for a very pleasant evening on a cold, wet night.
If you want Central market style Chinese it is not far of the mark. Very Friendly staff. Typical Chinese with a few interesting offerings.Is Byo but has a good wine list.Go when ever family is over from Sydney where they are spoiled for choice but always enjoy going here. A large predictable Chinese resturant that delivers good food, wine and service.

We dined here yesterday. The food was fantastic and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We liked that there were two areas for eating..the main dining room and also another room for the karaoke. We would definately return here for a meal again..one of the better chinese we have had on the fleurieu peninsula
We went here for a birthday celebration we had a banquet the spring rolls were huge the satay sticks were a little over done but very tasty the rest of the meal was fantastic the only down side $8.50 corkage was very high they had a good range of wine and not over the top with price
Staying in the McLaren Vale area we decided to get some take-away Chinese for tea. I found the menu on 'grub finder' and placed a phone order, which was ready at the stated time. The sizzling steak was wonderful, whilst the chicken
Large restaurant, nice decor. Service friendly and efficient. Huge menu, probably too big, not cheap in fact abit pricey. Food was plentiful but sauces were heavy and a bit bland. Would not rush to go back.

We greatly enjoyed our evening at the Red Gum on our recent visit to McLaren Vale. The staff were attentive, the wine and food selection extensive and the price great value.
